We got The turtles, Splinter, April, Shredder, Krang, Foot Soldiers, The Technodrome, the portal, the Lair, the Van, the blimp. Pretty much all the major players and elements of the old show all created in a detail no one really expected.

We got small cameos to Irma, Vernon, the gun toting bag lady and the boom box guy and the various punks from the pilot. Channel Six obscure locations like the seldom seen Technodrome cockpit, the ninja themed street, the street with phone booth elevator.

We got nods to episodes like "Turtle Tracks", "Return of the Shredder", "Beware the Lotus", "Leonardo Lightens Up", "Raphael Knocks 'em Dead" to name a few

I'd say that's more than enough to satisfy a fan of the 1987 show.

I'm not saying that the 4Kids staff was "trolling" the FW Turtles

You may not be arguing that but plenty people have argued that vehemently. Even in this thread that has been put forward.

Maybe that was the point. I mean 4Kids Splinter does confront his own sons about their treatment of their alternates.

That was the point. It's weird that people can't see that. Especialy as the wackiness of the 80s turtles continualy saved the day.
