Agree with PK here. It's not sexist at all. He's just admitting that his weakness is writing girl characters and he doesn't want to make them too powerful. As a fan fic writer, I can relate to this in that when trying to create an OC, you don't want to fall into the trap of making them a Mary Sue/Gary Stu type character. So, I get what he's saying on that point.
