Have any of you seen these before?

I came across these figures in a toystore in the north of Spain. No idea what they are. They all seem to have weird shapes at the bottom of their feet (clearly visible on the Raph figure) so my first guess was that they came from some boardgame or something and that the toystore opened a bunch of 'em up to sell the figures seperately. That is SO Spain.

Anyway, out of curiosity I decided to buy a Metalhead. To my surprise it came with a trading card (apparently stored behind the counter).
Here are pictures of the inch-and-a-half figure and both sides of the trading card.

Apparently the figures are made by Giochi Preziosi. My best guess is that the figures were originally sold in surprise bags. That is SO Giochi Preziosi!

Haven't found a trace of them on the Net though...
And I still have no clue what the funky shapes at the bottom of the feet are...

Can anyone shed any light on these mysterious figures?
