With the Nick toon gaining so much popularity, the 30th anniversary, the upcoming movie, and the bombardment of merchandise it's probably the closest thing we're going to experience since. I don't think anything will ever feel as nostalgic as it did back then, mostly because we aren't kids any more and the late 80s/early 90s had a magic about them that can't be replicated. That era was the last of the Age of Innocence for kids and families before the Dawn of the Internet, over-medicated kids and parents, the prevalence of autism, social media, GMOs, and the War on Terror. Taking all that into consideration the formula for "Mania" has changed and the Turtles are the most popular things going for kids right now. I don't think anything in recent years has had this kind of appeal for kids, not Mickey, not Spider-Man, not Spongebob, not even Batman.
