Yeah it's been a while, when these movies can out I never heard of the comic and it was just out a few years before and what the whole series was based on, it's not a big surprise that kids don't know about something that old.

It's like when someone redoes a song, unless you just happened to look it up or hear someone say it you might not never know if someone did it 20 years ago.

Star Wars makes even more sense if a kid started watching the prequels when it was young it makes sense they might not have went out and bought a 22 yo movie they didn't know existed.

Another example I am watching Roughnecks Starship Troopers Chronicles, unless you told some one they wouldn't know about a book that came out 38 years ago back in 1997, now it would be 55 years old.
