I think he wore it between issue 7 and 17 of the Archie comics run, wearing only the bottoms in issues 15-17, with no bandana! (I might be wrong!!)

As a kid, my only turtles comic was the movie adaptation (normal comic book format) I remember thinking that it was called 'ninja' instead of 'hero' and how the artwork was totally different to the cartoon. Then randomly, years later (in the year of 2003) I found the colour Mirage TMNT reprints (books 1 - 4) which collect vol1 issues 1 - 11, plus Leo book 1. This was in a charity book shop and were dirt cheap. I then went to a comic store and found vol4 issues 9 and 10. And then the new toon came out, it was a perfect time to get back into the TMNT!!! I got all the figs getting released, I was addicted! I went into which is now my local comic shop, and asked if they had any old issues of the turtles. They only had Corben's colour issue (33) and a bunch of vol4, so I picked them up. I then turned to ebay: my first ebay win being vol1 issue 28. And now i'm a total turtle-head, picking up what I can, whenever I can!!!
