TMNT New York Comic Con

Lets just say that I manage to get two sets of the comic con exclusive NECA toys, even though its one per person. I definitely want to get both signed by Peter Laird. I was thinking of opening one up, and leave the other closed.
Is it wise opening one of the signed sets?

Another thing...
Do you think that signing the TMNT comics will depreciate or detract the value?
