Why do people not make a big deal out of Casey meeting the Turtles before April?

In all incarnations April is the Turtles first human friend. However in IDW Raph meets Casey first, and then at the end of issue #4 Casey sees the three other Turtles. Meanwhile they don't meet April until issue #8-9.

Does anyone else think this gets overlooked?
