Don had been quietly listening to Randi's confession, prompted along by Mike's curiousity. The thought of a nationwide attack to turn humans into mutants put him in a state of shock. It wasn't as simple as this Marx may think. It's not going to be BOOM and then the country is now a mutant one.
It doesn't matter *what* had been seeded int he bombs... he knew that nuclear bombs were *nuclear* bombs. If the people didn't first just die from the radiation effects, maybe they'll be lucky to live on as a mutant. But there'll be so many people dying under the direct blast of the bombs in the major cities... this danger choked him up from participating in the conversation.
Blame it on his research of Einstein, and the scientific discoveries this great scientists had found... the things he read about splitting the atom, relative theories, light and sound. A 'MetaFusion Bomb' didn't make sense... had this Col. Marx gone insane. He's just gonna kill the whole country for the glory of mutants... like Hitler.
"Do you know when the attack will happen? If anything else, I can help you get into the systems Marx might use... find a way to make it harder for him to 'push the button'... make it harder for him to communicate to his troops--" Don stopped himself, realizing he was interrupting Randi's before she fully explained what she had in mind. "Sorry..." Don got back up, to walk to the other side of the room while wringing his hands.

"It is extremely hard for even an expert hacker to hack into their system." Randi muttered, "And even if you could hack into the system, you'd not only 'slow' communications for Marx, but you may... jepordize everything for the very whole of the Benning Islands."
"The Begining Islands?" Mike asked almost stupidly,
"The Benning Islands. Its a community--a city--of mutants."
