Official Ep Discussion: S3 Ep19: "Turtles in Time"

Well, it's been a long wait, but we're finally getting some new episodes. And we've got some real Doozies coming up.

Time travel has huge potential in this series. We could watch the past where Shredder and Splinter grew up as 'brothers', the romancing of Shen and the eventual rivalry and destruction of Splinter's home (and family).

We also get to see the images of Renet we've known for so many years finally come to life on the screen, albeit a bit younger.

How do the boys go back in time? Does Renet send them, or is it just a mistake?

And considering the butterfly effect, could something the boys do in the past change the future? What if Yoshi gets warned of Saki's attack, and sends away Shen and his daughter away to be safe? Would Yoshi change the outcome of the battle and completely change history? Could the turtles cease to exist?

Or could it all be a dream?! Who knows!

Okay her mentioning billy the kid, gengis kahn and socrates has got to be a nod to bill and teds excellent adventure. I love that they are back in their mutants and montsers costumes.

The skeleton battle felt very clash of the titans inspired

The knights felt like a monty python refference

Alvin and the chipmonks are better than most of the junk they come up with but im not sure about this one.

I did enjoy this episode but couldn't focus on it because the livestream was really laggy. I have to watch it later.

Fun episode. Kinda disappointed that they didn't hop to at least ONE more time period, but with the next episode centering on Splinter's past and the Half-Shell Heroes special covering the Jurassic era, it didn't end up bothering me that much. Renet was pretty cute.

Also, Savanti Romero was played by Graham McTavish, Loki from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! Awesome to hear him again.

Pretty great episode. I'm glad it ended on a cliffhanger, but it also makes me mad that this and Tale of the Yokai isn't an hour special. Ah well, can't wait for next Sunday. Anyone else bugged that there wasn't any promo for next week? Also, every scene with Raph and the horse had me laughing really hard.

I thought it was interesting that it started with them talking about getting Karai back. You think the key to curing her will be found in the past?

Was that Dragon Lord's voice? It sure sounded a lot like him. I'm a huge fan of Savanti and this version did not disappoint. I hope we see him again.

I really loved everything about this episode. The opening scene when Leo is pining for Karai and the guys talk about it. Notice Mikey told Donnie that he knew he still liked April. Still liked as in at some point Donnie said he didn't like her romantically anymore? Guess we missed that.

I loved it when Donnie hugged Renet and Mikey got in his face. Mikey was so extra cool in this episode. I do like romantic Mikey and I think they did a good job with that. It was great to see the LARP costumes again and to see them riding horses. Wish Raph had more to do other than be afraid of the horse.

Leo jousting was amazing and he actually won. It will be interesting to see them in feudal Japan. Is there a chance we'll see Usagi?

I really liked how they didn't make Renet into too much of a bumbling, clumsy character like they did in the 2003 show.

1. is the next episode going to be a continuation?
2. is mikey's crush one sided or does renet have feelings towards him too?

Great episode! I thought Savanti Romero and Renet looked awesome. The darker tone during the skeleton fight scene was so good and I love how the writers can get away with this stuff. Heads flying off skeletons and having them walk in a creepy, almost Pirates of the Caribbean way was very enjoyable! Honestly I wish we had like three more episodes of time traveling. Next week's episode sounds so good too!

I was so pissed last night because I thought I was going to miss this episode because of work and it's the one I've been waiting for, Renet is one of my absolute favorite characters from the Mirage books and I have been so excited to see this version of her since they revealed her at comic con way back. Well some things came up and I ended up getting the day off so I am soooko excited to watch this today with my son!
