Holy crap! people were nitpicking like crazy in that thread. Funny now that it's out, everyone is loving it.

Everyone nit picked the hell out of everything Kuhn drew when he first became the artist. I try not to criticize to harshly, since a lot of these guys are nice enough to use this forum and listen to us. Unless an artist makes a character genuinely unsettling to look at(Bates Karai) or a writer does something that doesn't make any sense at all or copies something else I really think people should stick to constructive criticism. They aren't Joe Quesada, they stick to deadlines and that ain't easy.

Read it again. This is the best thing idw has released, this or the leo micro book. Is issue 2 here yet?

He answers that:

still he's done what...1 issue so far?

To the point...Kuhn's turtles were unsettling...at least a little bit.

Incredibly, disturbingly unsettling.

I'm more unsettled by Karai looking like Jay Leno than the turtles having weird teeth.

Oh, you guys... Karai looks fine in the issue. Highly stylized, but just fine.

The only one complaining is Corvus. Bates' art is some of the best the book has seen.

They did appear to be cheaper in store. I'm not sure what each cover distinction was on the ebay store since they're sold now, but using Ninja Pizza's guide (http://www.ninjapizza.net/2013/01/se...1-variant.html) they had Cover G for the regular cost of $3.99 and Cover F and H for what appeared to be $24.99. I say appear because they were behind the shelf, and I didn't ask to see them, just spyed the price tags on them. So yeah the B&M had a little bit better price than online ordering but not by much.

Like I said though, we'll see in March.
I'm not sure there will be a reaction to this reveal. The last two pages of the issue seem to be taking place outside of a context where anyone could observe them. I think the reveal is there for our benefit, but thus far, I'm not sure anyone in the present would be able to see what was shown on the last page.

...The turtles are supposed to go back to ancient times with the professor in this mini-series, I believe. That being the case, there'd definitely be a reveal.

Funny, that thought hadn't crossed my mind. It's not impossible, but I highly doubt it. However, I'll bet $2 bucks one of the artifacts they find is the time scepter from movie three. I think it'd be far more likely for that to be their means of travel.

Aren't those time scepters essentially the same thing?

Basically, but they'd sooner pull from OT based media than Mirage.

A jab in jest...

Also, stop, I know there's a username related pun to be made here, you're better than that.

I was just gonna say, "You think Renet will take a powder?"

What's the harm in that?
