The ironic thing is I read most of the youtube comments and all the people who watch it have positive opinions.

It seems the only negative posts are from people who never even sat through a single episode.

My friend doesn't like it :3 but she just hates CGI in general and refuses to watch anything with it XD but whenever we watch an episode I always see her giggling in the corner XD (she likes it...she just doesn't want to admit it)
her husband loves it.

Personally, I dislike the show because it's too formulaic.

Other than a mutant popping up in a few of them, each episode is totally different from the previous.

I've seen countless trolling posts on the Internet. I have seen many idiotic things. It's one thing to dislike a show after giving it a chance and backing up your dislike. But the links I posted? You know that feeling where your chest gets cold, your heart beats faster, your face is on fire and you are ready to punch someone? Yeah that. That's what I feel about these people haha.

Not you though. You're cool in mah books. Everyone who posts on a TMNT forum, is sure entitled to their view.

You do realize this same thing happened when the 4kids cartoon started in 2003? People who never watched a single episode of it hated it because there was no Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady or Technodrome.

Most who watched it enjoyed it, and the series now has a legacy of being one of the best incarnations of TMNT.

Yeah, I get that too. But really, unless I get a dollar everytime I get pissed at an idiot in the internet, then I don't bother said idiot with my time and sanity.

Look at it like this. For all those haters, there's waay more who actually dig this show. I mean season 2 is coming. The toys don't stay in shelves etc.

If you legitimately enjoy the series then why do other's opinions of its quality bother you? It exists regardless and the internet is pretty much the worst place on the planet to find complex opinions anyways. Most are horribly formed, involve several insults, and contain grade school level spelling and grammar at best.

I myself could write a long, complex, and drawn out explanation of why I find the series to not be "my cup of tea" but it would be a waste of time. Those who chose not to ignore it will just attempt to argue with me about how they know what I like better then me. Some will even tell me how I can't possible be correct because as some forget people that really like something are just as irrational and nonsensical in defending it sometimes as those who dislike it.

Personally, I consider myself a moderate fan (watched the episodes and played video games in TMNT franchise) but interested in it enough to not be comfortably passive without it.

I'm a big OT fan and for me the 2K3 and 2012 CGI series are okay, the latter two are not my most favorite depictions of the Turtles. The story/plots are really good, but the overall tone for 2K3 and CGI are just not for me. I don't know if its the color schemes of the cartoon or rougher dialogue, but both shows don't have that warm, welcoming tone that the OT had. In addition, it just seems that CGI animation has a colder, stoic effect that hand-drawn animation...at least to me. (Now I'm not saying I won't watch the CGI and not interested, but I'm not going to go out of way constantly to see every single episode.)

As for the "childish" comments, I can see that and always felt that the CGI Turtles were more like "Tweenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" because they have those over the top "fanboy" moments and anime facial expressions. Unlike the OT and 2K3 (MUCH more so with 2K3) that more reflected teenage emotions, because they had more personal angst and heavier self-doubting issues.

But most of those over-the-top comments of the show being SO horrible are ridiculous though. I think those opinions are just highly exaggerated just so they can get attention in the vast expansive internet, especially on YouTube. (Just look at Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd at how having extreme exaggerated emotions online have given them profitable outcomes...) Furthermore, it's a bit unfair to the 2012 series because it is being compared to other preceding TMNT series in which the OT didn't (but it had a lot more to prove being the first series) and 2K3 hadn't either (they provided a much darker version, and yes it was compared to the OT, but they were vastly different in tone/ambiance.)

In the end, us "grown" TMNT fans (teenagers and older) can bicker and complain or compliment and gush over this new CGI series all we want, but in the end Nickelodeon and its merchandising cares about only one demographic that will ultimately decide its future...

Spoiler:
...how the kids like it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYMigBNFSKs

871 thumbs up vs 2790 thumbs down. Again I am not saying that I hate the show. I love it to bits. It's actually my favorite incarnation of TMNT ever and I cannot wait for Season 2 and I am comtemplating getting every single figure/vehicle released in the new lines. Huge fanboy here. But the show is hated, that much is for certain. Man I got my account here because of this new show. I love it that much, trust me, I wish this was loved as much as it deserves!

This is ugly.....Very ugly. After watching the first episode I hung my head in disbelief. The show is PAINFUL to look at. I'll just pretend this doesn't exist. Yeah...I'll...keep...telling..*.GODDAMIT IT DOES EXIST AND I CAN"T BARE TO LOOK AT IT! *Rage Quit*

So much...love?

I am a little surprised that a Youtube video with nearly 200,000 views got way over three times more dislikes than likes... and yet most of the comments seems to love it.

The Interwebs is weird, man.

I'm surprised you haven't run into hate threads Sir Cybercubed. It seems every time something new related to the show is revealed on Youtube or Facebook thousands of people jump all over it and call it crap because it's 'not their Turtles' and it 'ruins their childhood'.

I keep reminding them that the old show has NOT aged well and for being action heroes, the Turtles go through entire episodes just throwing pizzas and pulling rugs out from under the bad guys. The new show is the one with all the sweet ninja action the Turtles are supposed to have.

Jester said it best. People who comment on youtube videos are the lowest form of life on planet Earth.

Not saying anyone who dislikes the show is "wrong", but yeah youtube is not the place to look for opinions formed using brain cells.

Most of these were OT fans who were teens when the 4kids show were airing. Those same people should be in their mid/late 20's now. I'm sure not that many near-30 years old are that stupid to cry about their childhood when Batman and Spiderman are rebooted constantly.

Am I the only one who thinks this thread is pointless? I have not seen a majority of hate comments about this show. That's for Ultimate Spider-Man.

Is there some article or poll that votes the show for being the worst? As I've seen, no, there isn't. Plus, even if it is a minimal number of haters, why would one bother themselves with hate comments?

I've already talked to him about this, so I hope he understands what I think is going on.

I reject this thread on the basis of its ludicrous claims.

This show is beloved. It gets a bajillion viewers and sells mad crazy toys. This show gets far more love than hate.

I live in this dimension. Y'all obviously don't.

Every single time I read a thread asking people to state widely hated media that they love, I find countless posts naming things that aren't really widely hated at all. I guess it only figures that such misconceptions might spawn a whole thread.

If you're going by the comments on a trailer, though, then I sort of get the negativity, and not just because YouTube is filled with nostalgic hipster idiots, but also because, in my opinion, this show's trailers don't do a great job of putting its best foot forward. Generally, they tend to not only focus on the humor, but also focus on the loud, juvenile, in-your-face humor of Michelangelo. That's all actually in the show, of course, but it's not all or the best this show has to offer, and I think it's the sort of thing a lot of people were dreading when Nickelodeon acquired the license. It's very childish, and when it's the only part of the show you see and you see it out of context, it's harder to get that Mikey is supposed to be childish, and he's reviled for it in-universe.
