Well, it wasn't a bad Episode. Sure not as great as the other one before it, but I enjoyed the Fun-Factor in it.
I was also surprised, how patient Donnie was with the Pulverizer, everyone else would have probably gone insane. The Shellraiser..one,awesome Vehicle, really glad we finally got to see it. Too bad it's non-functional for now. ..and everything else was already said here. |

Agree completely with this IGN review:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/...verizer-review Everything was great except the Pulverizer. He was so bad it took away from the great things in the episode. |

I don't think it was a lukewarm episode at all. At points it played like a "downtime" episode though with all that training and hanging around the lair talking. Which personally I really enjoy. You need stuff like that to build the characters, otherwise it's nothing but nonstop battles.
Pulverizer is annoying. Will he become the newtralizer and redeem himself somehow as a character? That seems like what a lot of fans are predicting. Wouldn't it be rad if he turned out to be the best supporting character of the entire series once he becomes a mutant though? brief rundown of my highlights: * shellraiser, so glad to see it in action. it looks cool and the interiors are also cool * music. series continues to introduce awesome sounding music. sadly the music is played in short clips though so you can't really let it sink in. it's top notch though and i'd love to see a soundtrack someday. * i love that they mentioned leatherhead and even showed metalhead. continuity appreciation! * fishface looks great! love his shiny fish skin. his battle style is wicked too. All that leg spinning and stomping. his venom ability is a great touch that really sets him apart from dogpound. * donnie being donny. shellraiser introduction, creating anti-venom for raph, being a patient instructor for pulverizer. some of those training parts were really funny. * "who do we know who would be interested in stolen evil robot parts?" "baxter st--donatello." That timing was so... perfect T__T my favorite line of the episode I like IGN's review but personally I'm giving this a 7.9/10. Definitely not a bad episode, and not the 'worst' of the series so far either. My Ninja you have GOT to be trolling! :p |

Honestly... it wouldn't even surprise me if they went that route. They gave Shredder (and Splinter) a teenage daughter that talks back to him, they made Rat King a mad scientist and they made Baxter a bumbling wannabe comicbook super villain. Hell, they made Leo a wannabe comicbook superhero. So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they made Casey Jones into a TMNT fanboy fumbling with his sports weapons. Don't go by past incarnations, this show is doing lots of changes. Hell, April's a kid in this version for God's sake.

Hmm good point. Got me there. But either way, I wouldn't be surprised if Casey Jones was totally different from any version we ever saw before. I think the only think Nick could do to surprise me at this point is if they made Casey Jones a female vigilantee. After all... there are women out there named Casey.

Yeah, it was kinda weird how they had this seperate mini-hideout for Baxter, Xever and the Purple Dragons. It was kinda odd not seeing the Foot, Dogpound and Karai, but I know it was because this was Xever's big comeback scene.

Of the eps involving Baxter thus far, this one was my favorite. I was dreading that Pulverizer would have a way more irritating 'lookitme, I's a moron' sorta voice. Are Fishface's arms flesh though? O_o I Xever noticed that before.

Yeah, he had arms. It was lack of legs and able to breathe out of water that was stopping him. I agree with whoever said that it looked like the Turtles never realized it was Xever. I guess they can assume, hey Chris turned into Dogpound so this fish guy must be what Xever was turned into, but I wish it was mentioned, hinted or whatever. It just feels clunky and I just know the next episode or so is gonna completely ignore this fact and make it seem they already know he's Xever.
And how the hell did Leo know the Purple Dragon's name? It felt even more staggering than Shredder somehow knowing Leonardo's name. I hate it when cartoon characters that only see each in passing and by all means should only know each other as 'the Turtle with the swords' or whatever somehow know each other's names.

Finally got to see it.
I love mostly everything..EXCEPT.. - The Pulverizer. Absolutely horrid, skin crawling and time wasting character. Every single frame of his scene I can't stop shaking my head, I feel like strangling him. I enjoy it more when I focus my eyes on other things on screen instead of him. I hope he never returns but if he does, he needs to be more than a retarded doofus. Now that's out with the bad. On to the good.. - The Shellraiser. Finally it's making an appearance! I love how the turtles are enjoying their first ride. - Fishface fighting scene. Pure badass. - Splinter and his funny quips ("But he is..a doofus). I love that he's not a pure saintly character. He has flaws (impatience, temper) yet overall still guided by good morale code. - Donnie training his pupil. Like I said, I despise the Pulverizer, so I admire Donnie's patience and determination to train even someone like THAT. So overall, still a good episode. |

If April hadn't been this show's fifth Turtle I would have slotted the Pulverizer as a deconstruction of that staple, they even spoofed the Chekhov's Skill trope (I was pleasantly surprised the leg grappling thing didn't save the day in the end).
