Pretty sure once you have a set of sais and you are a fictional character that's a mutant turtle you can sharpen them if you want don't think any historians come out and lecture you about it.

What would be the point of having hand weapons that weighed a massive amount unless it was a large weapon that was meant to cleave off large pieces of the body, you aren't going to be able to block a sword with a sai if it weighed so much you couldn't hold it and manipulate it one handed.

Also the people in India and Egypt that you know made the sai I am sure at one point sharpened them, what would be the point of having a metal weapon and not sharpening it.

Don't mix the Sai with the Trishula, they are completely different.

The Sai is more akin to the baton (or any other truncheon weapon) as it is a weapon to block and trap swords, staffs and other weaponry. You don't use a bladed to do that job, you'd ruined the blade right away and make it useless. The Sai aren't that heavy, they are fairly light and have the perfect weight to do it's job (let me remind you) block and trap weaponry, they are also for striking the enemy.

The Foot aren't robots, there probably is no Technodrome or Bebop/Rocksteady, etc. Krang might be in it, and maybe fly-Baxter, but that's it.
You are insane if you think they can somehow fit the general TMNT VS Shredder/Foot storyline and Krang AND Baxter in a two hour movie.....

Season 1 did that and more in 5 episodes. & to boot, none of it felt rushed.

5 episodes = 100 minutes.

Chew on that, suckaaa!

In other words, I think it's completely reasonable.

Although....when they re-cut the 1st 5 episodes of the FW series together into a movie, they completely excised Baxter's "episode".

"Chew on that, suckaaa!"

Cartoons are awesome that way. I'm amazed when I think about all the information that can be packed into a single 20-ish minute episode.

Kind of like how Chris Nolan was crazy for thinking he could have an extended version of Batman's origin and partnership with Gordon, fight the mob/Falcone, fight Scarecrow, fight R'as Al Ghul and have enough time for some romantic tension with his childhood sweetheart but....y'know.

Ehhhhhh

I don't know. Begins is kind of a cluttered mess towards the end of act 1 and doesn't really get back on target until the mansion fire.
