It would be a bit more reassuring to the end of "*phew*! William Fichtner isn't playing Shredder" if there was even a single Japanese actor cast in any role in the movie. There's not.

Yeah. I hate that they're casting a bunch of white dudes as a military group and maybe with William Fitchner as "Col Schrader". Why is it so hard to stick to source material and cast asian guys to play the Foot "ninja" and an asian dude as "The Shredder" (ninja/samurai)? That's how it should be. I hate how directors and everything in Hollywood keep going for big names and the wrong cast.

i.e - Assassin's Creed the movie -----> Michael Fassbender as Altair?? (A Syrian assassin) Wtf?? This is what I'm talking about. They're so freakin' stupid when it comes to this crap. And it seems to be happening to the Turtles movie too.

Idk about this movie though. Will Arnett as Vernon is way older than Megan Fox as April. There's too much of an age difference there.

I'm hoping William Fichtner is playing Krang's robot body in human disguise. He could definitely pull off something eerie if they went in that direction. He could also provide the voice for Krang when he's revealed.

He'd also make a great Rat King. I'm just really hoping Schrader is not a real thing.

Have you even played that game? Altair has a super American accent and sounds out of place. If anything, casting anyone with even a slight accent is going against the source material. Can't blame Hollywood on that one.

I've played every AC game and I'm a huge fan. The voice actor for Altair in AC1 was horrible, and didn't properly do justice to that role. He sounded like a suburban white kid. That's why you're saying that he sounded out of place (and he did). He wasn't supposed to sound like that. He's a Syrian assassin from the Hashashin. They changed his voice in Revelations to give him the proper accent. The source material for Altair's voice was supposed to be Syrian and Ubisoft realized that and corrected it. Casting Michael Fassbender for Altair IS a bad choice. For Desmond? Maybe it could work. Read a history book about the people and culture of Masyaf and the Middle East. I know what I'm talking about.

Actors are capable of doing accents and being made up to look like that particular race. Watch The Devil's Double. It's pretty alright.

Fassbender could very well be playing Desmond but they've decided to just do a Quantum Leap type thing so Fassbender is actually in the film most of the time.

Just had a thought... could Fichtner be playing Leatherhead? I would say he's probably the next most "iconic" character after Shredder, Krang and Casey Jones. I could especially see him pulling off a Cajun-like portrayal like in the original cartoon. Just to add some more speculation while we wait for some sort of confirmation...

Interesting theory! Not only would it be his first movie appearance, but also the first ever live action portrayal of the character!

sorry but i can not see leatherhead in this movie. if a second movie were to be made, i feel it would be a baxter/mousers/utrom mix. if they continued for a third movie, only then would i guess either rat king or leatherhead...or boath using leatherhead agains the utroms and the rat king as a sub plot/sub villain.
