It looks like the weapons are still going to be made of that really brittle plastic that stress marks as soon as you bend it at all... Look at the pic of Mikey waving- his set shows a stress mark- sad when the stock photo even has that

So far, I only noticed that Raph and Mikey will have the same head sculpt as the Stealth Turtle figures. But Leo and Don's look new. Other than that, your photo isn't showing.

That figures are very cool. I want them since I saw the photos from SDCC.

Probably these should have been the first turtles released instead the inaccurate version.

Eh, I like first wave better since they don't have their gaping mouth the same color as their skin tone. But I'd definitely get these too.

Well, stealth tech Mikey actually has the top of his headset sculpted onto the figure's head, so I doubt it's being reused unless Playmates took the time to retool the mold.

BS Mikey doesn't have the same head as ST Mikey...he's got the same head as Ooze chuckin' Mikey.

Ooze Mikey and Battle Shell Mikey have unique heads. Same expression, but mirrored.

And there's really no such thing as a "retool." Similar pieces are done by the same sculptor but requires their own molds. You just can't add on or take away from metal tooling. You can only clean them to make them last longer.

Genuine retooling is a permanent alteration of an existing tooling, i.e. a modification of the plastic injection mold. Since the change is permanent, this is usually limited to cases where the change objectively improves a toy, usually in the form of running change variants where Hasbro and Takara have little desire to revert the change at some point in the future.

Only downside I see is the big ugly hinge that sticks out to the side because of the weapon storage.

I'm buying 2 of each of those battleshells. So much better looking than the first wave.
