On Aprils little freak out at the turtles: I think she was justified, she just got her dad back, now he's gone, she's upset when she found out they were responsible. She wasn't upset at them when it first happened or when they caught him.

I'm just hoping that they resolve this before Casey, but I doubt that will happen

I know I do. Let's just say there was once a showed called "Heroes." It was a great show, starting with the first season, but it got progressively bad later on. Mostly, this was due to the writers strike, but still. I don't want this to end the same way.

Maybe we'll see them growing as the series progresses. It's still early and I have a feeling this show is going to be around for a while. I like that the boys have flaws and tend to screw up once in a while. It's more realistic. They're just teens being teens sometimes, I guess.

That's her particular character trait however, this is just a different show. Who knows if they will learn from their mistakes or not. Adults can do big screw ups too, ya know.

Finally got to watch this episode. Other than some of Mikey's random lines, I thought this was a good episode. April saying she never wanted to see the Turtles again was a bit of a surprise.

Also-
-Love that they updated the intro! Could we get screencaps of those new scenes?
-Splinter's fear of cats has returned. I'll feel sorry for him when TigerClaw appears.
- I didn't really get a feeing of Mikey coming off as a jerk when he told April it was their fault for releasing the mutagen, I think he was actually trying to be sincere.
- LOL at the ending with the squirrel

- Love the easter egg when Mikey wanted to call Kirby "Wingnut" and Donnie's all against it.

That's just due to the relationships he's built, April and Timothy. When Casey and slash come in we will guarantee some raph development, when leather head returns there will be Mikey, and karai episodes are bound to tie in with Leo. I still think it's too early to say

Saw it with my daughter. Not much of a season opener, really... the whole mutagen exchange that went awry aside (that is clearly going to have repercussions to come) it mostly felt like spinning wheels. And mutating April's dad, just because? Just to give us another mutant of the week? And that is quintesentially not Wingnut.

Here's screen shots of Casey from the new intro. First one is when they're going over his head, 2nd one is after Raph goes into the shadows. Casey's head moves just slightly between those moments.

I hate that ending!

Seems April will one day turn to Casey Jones.
- Casey protects April from the mutants
- Casey protects April from the turtles despite her rage on them
- And Donnie will have to beg for April's forgiveness through Casey.

Good point. I feel like sometimes the writers have a preference for Donnie, but they do share the character development at times.

Exactly, there's no reason Kirby shouldn't be able to talk and reason. This is Mutagen that Shredder requested. He wouldn't want random monsters, he'd want obedient soldiers like Dogpound and Fishface.

It's literally called 'Mutagen'. Do you know what that even is? It mutates organisms. Mutations are some of the most inconsistent scientific reactions - they pretty much do whatever the hell they want!
