Dude, the problem is your thread title is not readable. We don't know what you're asking. If you're asking about Saki's backstory in the new cartoon, then all you have to do is edit your thread clarifying what you asked in your original post. Put something like "Why is Shredder Splinter's rival?" or whatever you were asking in the first post. That's the complaint we have with you. Be a little more clearer.

The vast majority of you dodged between "we don't understand you", "you obviously don't speak English" and "we think you're a troll".

There was nothing good natured there.

Fair enough if you think there's a case of a forum troll, but unless you're 100% certain and have proof, which you need to demonstrate, there's no excuse for some of the hostility I've seen in this thread. As it has been proved many a time, the best way to deal with a troll is to ignore them, not argue, because it's THAT arguing (attention) that feeds them in the first place?

I wanted to replace the thread title by "Shredder's backstory. His interference on Yoshi's(now also Splinter)/Hamatos' way. And the relation, treatment to/between Tang Shen." but I was told it won't fit. BubblyShell22 needed that what it's about when reading the title and more commenters asked the writing to be readable.

I think the answer I gave is best. Oroku Nagi never really had any purpose but to be in love with Tang Shen, beat her up, and be killed by Hamato Yoshi. Because of that last part, which would never sit well with moral guardians, they essentially did what George Lucas infamously did in his rerelease of Star Wars; they cleaned Hamato Yoshi's hands of murder, by writing out Oroku Nagi. Technically, they could have gotten rid of Saki instead, but as the world'a used to him being the Shredder, they went with him.

In the Mirage series, Nagi beat up Tang Shen, but that was it; Hamato Yoshi outright killed him, starting Saki's own vendetta. So looked at one way, Yoshi could actually be called the greater of two evils, but maybe both were equally nasty, and whoever started it, they were both willing to take more than an eye for an eye until the other was wiped out. Whatever the case, in order to make it less morally gray, they had Oroku Saki take his brother's place as Yoshi's rival, except instead of beating her, he killed her, and tried to kill Yoshi, too.

How Tang Shen was treated, was she unimportant enough as a person that it came to the part to compete for her or win her heart, and how much importance she has(IDW for example) and had in different incarnation.

If I was right in assuming your question:

Yes. She was treated bad. Very very bad. She was lusted over as an object, in some regard.
One man loved her, and she had feeling for him too. Another man, jealous, also had feelings for her.
Both men were rivals already, and for the woman of his dreams to have feelings for his rival, Saki took vengeance.
He meant to kill the whole family.
In some stories, Shen was killed with child.
This is not far off from events that happen in the real world, where an individual will take action against others because of their own feelings and not having things go the way they wanted.

This is the origin story.
Same as Superman loosing his planet and crashing on Earth.
Same as the Wayne parents being shot in an ally and witnessed by young Bruce who grew up to be Batman.
Same as Uncle Ben being gun down by a common variety thief, causing Peter Parker to pursuit being Spider-Man.
Anakin Skywalker felt he was being "held back" by his mentor and sought a woman, he let emotion fuel him and from loosing his mother, etc, he became Darth Vader.

This story is the "drama" that fuels the fire for conflict in the characters of the TMNT.
And with all variations of the story, things or "goals" alter.
In the original comics: Yoshi mutated into a rat with 4 Turtles. He raised the Turtles with the intent of having them serve for his own revenge on the man who ruined his life.
In the common minds: Yoshi mutated into a rat (Or his pet rat mutated into the form of a humanoid rat) and raised 4 Turtles in the martial arts, like any good instructor would do. Once Shredder finds evidence of Yoshi's return, he seeks to finish what he started by destroying Yoshi and his life.
In some occasions: Shredder is revealed to have raised a daughter, Karai. He raised her as his own child and taught her in the martial arts as her master. Unknown to Splinter that this was his thought-to-be-dead daughter, Miwa. Shredder raised the daughter of Shen/Yoshi (Splinter) to kill her own biological father for the sake of Shredder's vendetta.

There is so much that has been done because of the simplicity of Shen's death.
So, really, she's probably the most important character in all of the Turtles stories.
