2014 "officially licensed" movie turtles costume for this Halloween :( - Page 20

Oh wow. You know, I get that this is a Halloween costume but this is NOT a good first impression for what the turtles'll possibly look like. The creepy human face, the sunglasses, pretty much everything about it doesn't appeal to me at all.

I drew something to try and give a better visual representation of the design. It's not totally accurate, but easier to work with than the costume. I was too lazy to go full body, hence the kneeling position. Winged the tattoo 'cause I can't make it out all that well.

Great art but...geeze, those human-like lips just look bad.

If I squint they disappear and it looks pretty darn good.

EDIT: Gives me an idea though. Are you at all able to draw us the other Turtles based on what we've seen/heard? Might help us all visualize them a bit better until official shots come out.

I still can't help but feel that Mike's design is meant to appeal to modern hip-hop druggies with their shaved heads, tattoos and piercings, and sunglasses like they're all so badass when they're really not.

This is also not the guy in question who leaked the Halloween costume who, supposedly, has the other characters as well.

I honestly don't know what to think of all this.

On one hand: Yep, I'm happy that we know what the turtles look like, on the other hand, I'm not really keen on the designs. It's different, but unlike the Amazing Spider-man suit, it's not a very good change. Maybe I'll grow to like it, but at the moment, I'm not entirely sold on it. It's the head that throws me off. I don't like the lips. We are talking about Mutant Turtles who do Ninjutsu, you don't need to be realistic in what they look like. The Turtles have survived 30 years without lips, i think they can survive another 30 without them, so why have them in a movie?

The clothes, even though they bother me, they don't have to wear them throughout the entire movie. Let's say, for example, they get to the final battle with the Shredder, and they ditch their clothes to aid swiftness, and they look like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles we all know and love. Then i can forgive them for having clothes.

I'm still staying positive. As long as the script, the acting, the story and the action scenes are good, then i can forgive them for deciding to include the clothes.
