What's weird to me is that Rahzar is listed on the back with the current wave and he's the only one that's not out. Is he still considered part of this wave? Will he be a figure that gets shipped only with a couple per case or something?

Pretty sure he's part of the next wave. I think the playmates guy said so in pixel Dans toy fair video.

I always thought that the battle shells were part of the shredder 2, Spyder Bytes, Mousers wave? Becuase that's when I found them.

Technically the BS Turtles are counted as a seperate assortment, according to the catalogue I have. Each assortment of turtles (stealth tech, ooze flinging, etc) is listed as a seperate wave - the line's basically seperated into turtle waves and villain/secondary character waves.

Bear in mind that's a UK/Europe catalogue, though...

I thought so cause I remember seeing the pic at NY Toy Fair and it had wave 8 as Casey, MM, Kirby and Squirrelanoid. Thanks for the clarification. Btw, love your site and I've used it for years. It's been a huge help during my building of my 2k3 loose collection

It's a bit sad seeing how much care for detail the zip line sets gets, but the classics figures gets a subpar treatment.

Almost makes you wonder if the zip lines was made by someone else on behalf of Playmates.

Picked up some doubles of the earlier stuff that's starting to reappear (fish face, snakeweed, etc.) and noticed some major paint differences when I got home and compared them to the original releases.

April's were the easiest to photograph (still probably hard to tell). The one on the left is the April hitting shelves now ( hair is a more orange shade of red/ eyes are more "toon"), Right is the earlier release (darker hair, shirt is much brighter yellow).

Spoiler:

The paint change (especially the eyes) almost makes it look like a different figure when they're side by side.

Not sure which I like better. What do you guys think?

I'm incredibly annoyed at these toys right now. My nephew recently really got into playing with turtles toys. I gave him my giant box full of old Turtle stuff, but he seems to like the new stuff more. So, I've picked him up a bunch of newer stuff over the last few months. He had the turtles, Shredder, a foot ninja and Splinter for a long time, so I got him a few other dudes. Found Baxter, Leatherhead, Metalhead and Snakeweed in the last little bit. Problem is he looks at the boxes and keeps saying he really wants the big wolf-looking dude, April and the Krang thing. The only thing I've been able to find for a month are turtles and variations on the turtles.

Anyways, my point for coming in here was to ask a question. Are there harder/more difficult to find figures in this collection, or are stores just not ordering anything because they're buried in unsold stock of sh*tty turtle variants? Both TRU's near me have WALLS of the exact same things. It's very frustrating.

I can't speak for the US, but round here, it's peg after peg of Stealth Tech & Ooze Flinging Turtles, with the odd Dogpound, Baxter or Ninjas in Training. I've seen the new Shredder once, I'm yet to find the Mousers at retail, and with the new storage shell Turtles showing up I'm afraid it's going to get even worse. It doesn't help that certain figures are missing from some case packs - I've opened 3 or 4 cases that had extra Ninjas in Training instead of Mousers...

Yeah, it just does not want to stay on very well.

I don't doubt that they were done by Playmates. They've actually had better than average zip lines as part of their play sets going back at least to the 2003 Sewer play set. (By that I mean more than a piece of string and a plastic hook to slide down the string.) But the Z-Line Ninja play sets still have the huge drawback that you can only mount them once, in one spot, without buying a bunch of command adhesive strips. And when you start going over all the instructions about setting these up and getting the pitch right, it's a pain. As soon as I saw that they actually created and included a tool to measure the slope of the lines with each set, I knew they had gone too far.

It certainly could be different in your area, but here stores are not buried under unsold stock. They are selling through all the figures at an impressive rate. Rahzar should be out with the next set of releases, probably by the end of April. And April and Kraang are both shipping again now.

Yeah if anything the pegs are almost completely picked clean and just sit that way until the stores order more three months later, in these parts. I mean like you'll get some Turtle variant stragglers, but usually it's less than five.

Not really any rare ones, just some figures get rotated through different shipments. Come to think of it, I haven't seen April or Kraang for a while.

AND NO BAXTER. WHY CAN I NEVER FIND JUST ONE FRICKING BAXTER.

Well of course he likes the new stuff more, he recognizes all the characters and designs from the show which I assume he's a fan of. Rahzar (or "the big wolf looking dude") isn't out yet. April and Kraang have been out since 2012. Each store has different stock, but yeah, turtle variants are most common, just like they've always been with every incarnation's toy line. I find it a little hard to believe that you're not finding ANY character but turtle variants...even if one of my stores is filled with variants, there's always other characters mixed in. Like I said though, every store is different. I usually find new characters at TRU.

Find it as hard to believe as you like. It might be because I'm in Canada and around here we're generally f*cked over in as many ways as possible for stuff like this, but I've been two 6 different stores in the last week and the only thing I've seen that isn't a turtle variant are mousers.

And I'm not talking about an 8 peg Wal-Mart section. I'm talking about a TRU SHELF that's entirely stocked full of variants.
