Nobody has ever been more high on cocaine, ever, than Carrie Fischer was during the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Allegedly.

I stand corrected. It's been a while since I watched the DVD, but there's a very good chance that the Wookie may in fact have been on more blow than Carrie Fischer. Thanks.

the only way I can watch the Holiday Special is via the Rifftrax version. I've tried the other way and just kept dozing off.

Nah, but I do find myself with the compulsion to run out and buy a Tobor which they don't even make anymore.

I am gonna say something very unpopular here, I ****ing hate princess Leia, i hated her even as a kid i don't know what it is, maybe the way Carry Fisher plays her.
Anyone else has the same thing with this?

No. Never had a problem with Leia, in fact she was probably quite a feminist figure back in the 70's when she debuted. She talked back to Luke and Han the moment she met them and shot enemies with guns instead of cowering in the background like a girl. She rescues Han in the last movie and she's shown to fight alongside them.

My favorite scenes in the movies is usually Leia shooting the Storm Troopers.

Just wish they'd say who or what they're playing. :/

Interesting rumor about Ep VII villains.

Spoiler:
Their sources have heard Star Wars: Episode VII villains being reffered to as “Jedi Hunters” by crew members working on the film at Pinewood. These villains are "dressed in black, some helmeted, that hunt Jedi for the Empire." When more details were given MakingStarWars realized these "Jedi Hunters" sounded quite a bit like the Inquisitor (Empire's Jedi Hunter) from the new animated series, Star Wars Rebels, which is set five years before the original trilogy. Their sources weren't familiar with that character, but once it was explained to them they agreed over the similarities.

Sounds like we can expect some great lightsaber duels as "these hunters use lightsabers." Another source added that "they had the impression the Jedi were fighting this group for a very long time."

They also claim that David Oyelowo, who portrayed the head of the biotechnology company Gen-Sys in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, will be "voicing one of the three villains in the film." That's the first time we've heard of that rumor as in the past Jedi News also made that claim.

Another source says Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver, and David Oyelowo are making up the cast of villains in the film and they’re “Jedi Hunters.” They also said Lupita might wear “yellow contact lenses” in the film as she was seen trying them out and walking around with them some time ago to try them out. The villains are said to be characterized by black and chrome with troopers in similar black and chrome uniforms. They’re very imperial, but very new. My sense is these guys are like General Grievous’ Magna Guards from Revenge of the Sith (my analogy not from a source).

Supposedly the “Jedi Hunters” or Inquisitors (from the sound of things) are the reason there is no New Republic after Return of the Jedi. That’s right, they’re saying there is no New Republic. Source #2 claims to have been on set for a sequence in which we learn the Jedi Hunters worship the Sith and want to resurrect them. Their mandate was to protect the Sith at all costs and insure their survival.

This source also believes Luke Skywalker has been fighting to stop this for the last thirty years of his life, but he is outnumbered, tired, and in need of help. The bad guys have a goal: The resurrection of the Sith and it “sounds like it happens in the next film” meaning Episode VIII and “I guess they kill him (said resurrected Sith) in IX.” - MakingStarWars

Per Deadline, THR and every other trade LucasFilm has hired Rian Johnson to write and direct Episode VIII.

Love this news.

STAR WARS EPISODE VII PRODUCTION UPDATE
At the end of last year Lucasfilm and Disney invited all young aspiring actors to attend an open casting call for roles in J.J Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII. The casting calls spanned 11 cities across the US and UK and over 37,000 hopefuls attended, with a further 30,000 submitting applications online.

Having hunted high and low for young and undiscovered talent, the filmmakers are delighted to announce that two actors from the open call call have been cast.

Crystal Clarke is an American actress studying in Glasgow, UK, who has both stage and screen acting experience and is soon to be seen in her first feature, The Moon and the Sun (to be released in 2015). British actor Pip Andersen is a skilled practitioner of parkour, a discipline that involves propelling oneself through any given environment with incredible grace and agility. Pip recently demonstrated this remarkable skill in a Spider-Man ad for Sony.

“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Meanwhile, principal photography continues at Pinewood Studios in London after wrapping on location in Abu Dhabi in May.

In August, the team will take a brief two-week hiatus while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as actor Harrison Ford recovers from a leg injury. Harrison is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon. Shooting remains on track to wrap in the fall with the film scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.

very excited to hear production is not delayed at all -- though they always indicated that to be the case. Only internet rumors suggested otherwise.

So, filmmaker and podcaster Kevin Smith visited the Ep VII set, and he talks about it in this video:

http://www.slashfilm.com/video-kevin...e-7-set-visit/

His impressions start at 35:00. He's under NDA but it's still interesting to hear what he CAN say.

The Pip Anderson casting reminds me of the Ray Park casting in Episode I.

Some of his parkour skills:
