Bebop and Rocksteady from the new Show

It's the same problem with spike/slash or Falco/Rat King.

Why does everyone need two names? I understand Xever and Bradford but for everyone else? Why can't Bebop and Rocksteady just be their names from the start?

Some times, it actually is appropriate. You should choose the ones that aren't.

Man, I'm glad that Rat King has an origin story. For the OT series, I hated the fact that there wasn't much to him and I felt this way even as a kid. I liked his strangeness and wanted to know more about him, but it just wasn't shown. I always wanted to know what he was like before he became Rat King or how he came to live in the sewers and all that stuff. I'm so glad the Nick version did something with him.

OT Rat King, to me, just seemed to be some weirdo who had an unnatural obsession with rats with a hardon for Splinter. *shudders* Well, of course I didn't think that as a child, but I did feel he had a strange liking towards Splinter.

Nick's Rat King went crazy from an experiment gone wrong and now his mind is more warped than it already was.

I still don't get why you're having an issue with these characters having normal lives (or something close to it) prior to mutations and freak accidents, especially if the character started out human. In the real world, we're usually given names by our parents, right? It makes sense. The exceptions are those who started off as animals in the first place.

Worth noting, if nobody else has yet... but Zeck and Steranko are almost assuredly named after Mike Zeck and Jim Steranko, two hugely influential comic artists.

It's surprising that some people still think this series is MAINLY a remake of the 1987 series. Just because Irma, Bebop, and Rocksteady are a part of this series does not mean it is a DIRECT REMAKE. Baxter Stockman in the 1987 was Caucasian while the one in this series was African-American. April and Irma are teenagers and not adults. Each TV series has its own universe, which was explained in Turtles Forever and the episode with the cameos of the original turtles.

Yes, That makes sense. Humans named bebop and rocksteady. And they should've just had dr falco been named dr rat king right? Ooh, and not Vic, he was just named spiderbytes his entire life, just a random coincidence he mutated into a spider.

My question for you is: how does xever and Bradford having 2 names make sense to you, yet zeck and steranko do not?

While I personally don't mind at all the ideas of new names, I see why some are mixed about the voices. At the very moment, Snakeweed and even Mutagen Man had their voices warped. Heck Kirby, Tyler and Stockman lost their voices and I really am not a fan that Baxter can't talk anymore. Hopefully he can maybe get a translator like Newtralizer and hopefully not that computer friend he had in the original.
