GOTG has been around for Years we're not even getting the OG Gaurdians line up we're getting the "updated" version that curently running which is fine but the character have been established for some time

SO to say Ana and Elsa who have been "main streem" knowledge for tops two years, are the Same As Star lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot, and rocket Characters that have been "main stream"6 years Since 2008 when this version of the team has been used.

Is not the same thing

WHile the concept of Frozen has been arounf for damn near 50 years its been and evolving and constant change up until its release and was never Common and public knowledge until about 3 years ago, and only until its release when people actually new about he characters,

all these character in GOTG have been around for much much longer and if they were as Apealing as they look more people who have known who they were,

Don't get me wrong i wanna see it i will be there (hopefully) opening day/knight
But i know for sure im going to be at tmnt Premier and again the fallowing day lol

Sorry, disagree. No one has heard of Ana or Elsa prior to the movie release. No one. And no one predicted the movie to be making 1.2 billion dollars.

Reaching. Badly.
Frozen and GOTG are / were in pretty same situation. I dare say, GOTG has an advantage here as its a movie from the same company that made Avengers.

The whole thing about concept of Frozen being succesull, because it was (somehow) around for 50 years is complete and utter nonsense. The movie was released some time ago and it was succesful on its own merits. Because, otherwise, everything that was part of the popculture for siginificant time should be always succesull, which, as we can see, is obviously not the case.

I see some people use any opportunity to praise Bay's movie, even if doesn't have nothing to do with reality. And bashing "product X" to promote "product Y" is not a good idea. It's a tactic for the people who afraid that object of their fandom can't be good just because it's really good on its own.

Seriously - by some of the logic I'm reading here, the TMNT franchise could never have been more successful than other "known" franchises in the late '80s, because at that point nobody had heard of it.

The 1990 movie was released a few years after the cartoon debuted, and the franchise as a whole was still very young - yet it out-grossed a lot of movies that would be considered a "safe bet" by comparison.

Sometimes things catch on and become popular very quickly. Hell, that very thing happening 25+ years ago is the only reason most of us are posting here now.

Yeah I have to disagree too. Frozen's success was just so unexpected, Who knew it would became the No. 1 animated film in the office box. It even surpassed Toy story 3, a well known brand.

But Frozen did achieve most of this success through kids though. Which tmnt has an advantage in, while GOTG is lacking in that department.

but the same if Sam,Puddin or others said "you know it wasnt as good" id still want to make my own judgement based on my veiw

not sure if that made sense

I think you both are miss understanding me, I'm say the fact that GOTG has been around for at least 8 year with the teams line up And yet no one now nore cares about them until this movie released a trailer mean that if they have been around so long and been developed for some time why are they not more popular???

Frozen Is a relatively new thing pretty much just something the caught on and turned out great(loved it BTW)

IM not saying that GOTG can't to great

but that fact that they have been around much much much longer then Frozen and they should have a larger fallowing but they didn't until the movie

You guys act like im arguing im not im just saying to compare frozen and GOTG is not acurate in any way

GOTG been around since the 60's the team they are using since 2008(character themselves have been around longer)

Frozen only about a year

TMNT have been a hot name and MAinstream For ages Its never really died out not once it had it ups and down but never teetered out, except maybe between the end of BTTS/TMNT movie, and the nick toon

not sure if that made sense
Don't worry It wasn't aimed at you, I was just talking about those specific people who are constantly saying the movies going to be terrible because they hate the designs or MB is involved of some sort. Waiting for someone else's reviews of the movies was just another option. From other peoples point of view, It could be bad, mediocre or great. But I don't think anyone currently knows how movie is going to turn out. So yeah its best if we see it for ourselves.

Well im not sure what I typed made sense, but I hope you get what I was trying to say.

So? TMNT originally was an underground comic book, which didn't have large following until after cartoon (technically promotional clips for toys) was released. Same situation here. Assuming that something MUST have large following because it was around for quite a time is a strange logic. Plenty of things can exist as a small scale projects and have relatively small circle of followers for decades.

I think you argued yourself in the ground, so to speak.

It's weird how some complain about the new TMNT designs but, Starlord has one of the most boring superhero costumes ever, i know it's not suppose to be a costume but, they could have went with something a little more interesting, i mean a red trench coat and a blue Tshirt?

Anyways one of the main reasons Frozen was so successful , was because of kids! TMNT has an advantage over Guardians with kids, no doubt about it,

BostonNinjaTurtle i didn't say i love Rocket i said Raph wipes the floor with Rocket, cause their both suppose to be badasses but Raph is cooler more interesting (Don't try to say you don't know Rocket's stories well wrong! i own a few of the newer Guardian comics) than Rocket

Bottom line is i hope Guardians flops horribly and only makes $101 million, that would make my day!

Now now... lol What are people on both sides gonna do if they pull about even? They could very possibly both get their time with many of the same viewers.

Though, realistically speaking, for all anyone knows another could end up being the dark horse and trump them both. Will be interesting to see who ultimately comes out on top, be it TMNT, Guardians, or someone unexpected.

I personally don't hope neither of them flop. If they are really good movies, I want both of them to be successful so they could make multiple movies later along the line.

Except Tmnt has been constant there was almost no time underarm every version and only minor till after btts,

If gotg has been around for so long why is it not as popular?

Frozen is a classic in the making original and a fantastic Disney movie.

So sad. What if GOTG was released this Friday and not in direct competition with TMNT?

You are spot on. GotG is a smaller comic book series under the Marvel banner. There's no major media or fan presence because this is the first time general audiences have even HEARD of the series. There's. No cartoon, no tv show, no breakfast cereals. The characters had ONE box set of figures like 5 years ago when marvel universe were burning up the pegs. It was similar for the Turtles, even the X-Men were largely ignored by the public until it had a proper animated series.

Unfortunately, you're not gonna be able to reason with Sam. He's a good dude, but his feet are firmly planted on his arguments.

That not what im saying GOTG can and will do amazing things They are starting to push them into the other marvel Universes, LIke their cartoon movie and even comics so that more main stream audience can see them

But to compare that to Frozen in which basically just blew up recently is not that same thing thats all im saying Jimmany christmas not everything i say is an attack on this movie lord lol

I wanna see this movie IM going to be seeing it likely and hopefully day one if im off from work,

I am taking two days off for TMNT though

That being said that one has to wonder why GOTG isn't as popular amongst the Marvel fans

If its been around for so long you would thing they would have a much larger fallowing they even have 15+ years on tmnt. Why haven't they had a tv series? why haven't they had more toy? why haven't they had a more popular comic

But now all of a sudden it a cultural Phenomenon with perfect characters and story( which i like so far as i have seen)

its just odd

IM sure the movie will do great im going to see it on no arguing just Raising some questions

VERY popular.

rocket racoon and groot are fan favorites.

whether from the comics, the video games, or their appearances in the cartoons they have a pretty big cult following.

not that TMNT doesn't have that but from the bigger picture movie wise they haven't been in public eye since 2007

while GOTG is a superhero marvel movie in space

People love Space movies
People Love Superhero movies
People Love Marvel movies

like you i am not saying i want TMNT in favor of GOTG to, fail and like most of us are saying who knows we could all be wrong and they could both flop but only time will tell..like you i will be at both maybe not opening for either night but ill be there

TMNT has been around a lot longer than say, Shrek. How come 2k7 TMNT didn't pull in Shrek numbers ( a rather new franchise) if it was so popular?????
