Possible new villain for TMNT

I'm loving this concept art! The elements idea, spiritual quest and new weapons aspect reminds me a bit of the Ninja Tribunal season of 2K3. Leo as an archer reminds me of his arc in North Hampton in Mirage and Creep looks fantastic, like a mystical forest Muckman! Don looks very intimidating, a bit like a shaman a nd a bit grim reaper-ish. I can't help but wonder if Creep taking Casey ' s mask and allusions to Casey ' s disappearance is part of the reason why his mask looks the way it does. Of course, it could just be coincidence.

Sewer Sirens, I'd love it if this was creepy ala the River!!

It would be cool if those rumors of them leaving New York on a cliff hanger of season two was true, best part is doesn't sound like April is at all here, which means no creepy stalker Donnie any more

Though doesn't sound like Master Splinters here either, wonder what happens?

Shredder isn't the sort to be content with the assumption his enemies are gone unless he sees them all dead with his own eyes. So I'm sure we may get some moments where he is sending Tigerclaw, Rahzar, Baxter-Fly, and whoever else to scour the city for a trace of their enemies. I think for the most part the Shredder and Kraang may take a break to make room for other villains in the Turtles lives.

Well if you look at the leaked story board on such and such thread, you do see Donnie wearing his cloak thing and he doesn't have his purple mask anymore. So it sounds like April may be with them in Northampton.

Casey and Splinter are up in the air. I suppose of The Creep has Casey's mask it was stolen from him as he tends to grab people and toss them. So that's how they encounter the Creep, with Casey getting attacked and injured and whoever did it stole his mask.

There is also a slight possibility that Creep could be Casey mutated, but I don't really think that is the case.

Splinter either sacrifices himself so that his sons, April, and Casey can escape the city. Which leads them to undergo the vision quest so they would be able to prepare themselves for the day they will reclaim their home, rescue or avenge Splinter and maybe Karai.

Or Splinter is able to escape with his sons, April is forced to stay with the Turtles for her safety. So she is keeping Splinter company while everyone else is undergoing their spiritual journey.

Maybe Kirby, Casey, and maybe Irma are go between's with the Turtles and the city so they can keep the Turtle's abreast of what the Shredder and Kraang are doing.

Darn, was really hoping April would be left behind

I don't want romance in this series either, if those sketches of Donnie x April turn out to be true and she joins them well, minus one point for season three for me, hope that's not the case

I like the idea of Splinter sacrificing himself, this allows the turtles to grow on there own, train and fight villains without him more, kind of hoping for that

Wonder what happens to Karai? I don't see any thing on her for season three
Likely stay behind to help them escape.

It all sounds pretty cool though, really looking forward to it

In the story board it looked like Donnie was trying to tell April good-bye. As in, "I'm not going to pursue you anymore." So it is possible the romance angle may take a break as well.

I like that idea, or him saying good bye to her cuz they'll be leaving for a while and shey'll be staying in New York. Either one sounds good to me

That may be what the "I understand nothing" line is for.

You mentioned their vision quest would involve each of them overcoming their fears, being Donnie's fear was April rejecting him in Fungus Humungous, they way to overcome it would be to finally talk to her so they both can move on. Then what does April do? Kisses him.

So not only is he not able to move on, but now he knows that can't get away from the fact that now their feelings are mutual.

Which may explain why he leaves for the mountains, for he feels it's his only way to move on.

This show is going to take some interesting and brave turns indeed. The element-harnessing aspect still sounds iffy to me; I recall something similar occurring late in the 2K3 series and it just seemed like a really forced attempt at making them "cooler". (The part where they turned into dragons, ugh)

However, I'm not unopposed to seeing them out of their compfort zones and exploring new tactics; it would be a boring few seasons if nothing new was tried.

I'm feeling the same way. I like this new direction, it's interesting but at the same time it reminds me of the (great) 2k3 series and especially season 5. I found it forced as well and it didn't feel like TMNT anymore.

But I have confidence they'll find a good balance. It makes me wonder what the turtles will face for them having to resort to these kind of powers and abilities.

It had been mentioned that it would take a few months for Donnie to make retro mutagen.

And we don't know how much is passing in between Lonely Mutation of Baxter Stockman and now. It could be as little as a few days to as long as as a handful of months. We can all agree that single drop of Retromutagen was a McGuffin, so it is possible Kirby could return to being Kirby-Bat again.

As the current events are coming on fairly fast Donnie might not have time to make retromutagen for people such as Timothy or Ice Cream Kitty.

It's likely that since the Shredder is going to get the populous of New York on his side against the Turtles. It is possible the city wide man hunt would become a city wide man hunt for mutants in general.

So some mutants may have rounded up by the Kraang again (after all they recaptured Slash, who else could they have captured again.) Other mutants could be convinced to join Shredder's mutant army.

Then there are some mutants who will form groups such as heroic groups such as the Mutanimals, and others will form Pro-Mutant groups such as H.A.V.O.C.

Then there are a few unfortunates who are captured by humans and to be experimented on. I think Ice Cream Kitty might be brought out of the lair by the Turtles, but Timmy would likely be convinced to work for the Shredder or the Kraang just so he can get a seemingly endless supply of mutagen.

I can see maybe Baxter-Fly stealing Donatello's notes on the Retromutagen so he can attempt to recreate it for himself.

I don't know how I missed all of this information...everything sounds awesome! I'm glad that Season 3 will be taking a different direction with a new setting, new type of armor/weapons/fighting style for the turtles, and (possibly?) a new main villain!

According to the caption on the new Turtle designs for the show, it mentions this was one of the long-term plans that Ciro had for the Turtles.

Sorry it doesn't, the caption just says that Ciro has several years worth of stories that he wants to tell. And a quick glance at his sketch book showed some of the long-term plans he had for the Turtles.

That would be awesome. But isn't the Groot BAF really big? It'd be in scale with the classic turtles.

hahaha that's what I'm saying. Although I have a good feeling that we will get just as many hiatus breaks as we have in the past.

Also what turtles get each element? I'm going to assume that they won't have control over the element but they will adopt traits and fighting styles that resemble the element. We know:
-Raph gets FIRE
-Leo gets WIND
-Donnie gets EARTH(I'm going to assume so because of the "mountain" statement
Does that mean Mikey will get water? I like that idea because Mikey is a "go with the flow" kind of guy and water, well, flows. lol.
