I guess this is what he was talking about when he answered. Sad to see ghostbusters ongoing stop but I'm so happy about this crossover!

Interesting. I wonder if this crossover is because IDW might be losing the Ghostbusters license soon and they wanted to do more stories with it so crossovering with Turtles made sense.

This always makes me wonder how long iDW holds on to license properties for. After a book gets canceled how long do they retain the rights to these series before they have to give them up?

Whaaaaaaaat?!

Wow, I don't even care how ill-fitting that cross-over is, that's amazing. So there.

What makes you think that IDW is losing the Ghostbusters property? Ghostbusters comics reached a new level of popularity and IDW has kept the franchise alive and kicking, pretty good for a property that debuted as a movie 30 years ago, had 1 sequel, and 2 cartoons that have long since ended.

IDW held the license for years doing just the 4 issue mini-series and the occasional seasonal one-shot. I hardly think that after having a successful ongoing series for 3 years that they would all of a sudden lose the property in a span of 6 months. Sony is continuing to make money off of the property thanks to IDW, they have no reason to pull the rights from them.

This crossover has been eagerly awaited and anticipated by fans of both properties since IDW got the Turtle Publishing rights in 2011. The only hold-up was getting 2 giant corporations, Viacom and Sony, agreeing to do the crossover and getting both to agree to a story. What better time to do it than the 30th Anniversary for both properties.

Seriously, go do this now. It's one of the funniest movies from the 80's... probably one of the funniest movies from any decade.

Really, I think this is a lot better fit than the X-Files crossover simply because both series are comfortable with quirky humor and crazy fantasy/sci-fi shenanigans.

I am so hyped for this! I always knew they would eventually do it, once I saw that both properties were at home with IDW. What a swell adventure this is going to be! I need to make sure my shop pulls it for me.

How is it ill-fitting? Both 30 year old series focus on a group of four characters who take on the strangest happenings New York has to offer. This book is going to be pure fun.

"No fu**ing way, no fu**ing way" is all I could keep saying as I read this thread. This makes me so happy, especially since Ghostbusters is done after #20 in September.

The creative team assembled was an absolute no-brainer, but still a lineup to be giddy over. Burnham has done all of IDW's 'busters stuff for a while now, and some of the best Turtles stories in the past few years. Tom is Tom (awesome enough), but you guys might not know he's been the editor for Ghostbusters since it launched in 2011.

And I've been dying to see Schoeing and/or Delgado on a TMNT book. You guys will be floored by Delgado's colors. And of course you can't leave Tristan Jones out. Definitely getting one of each cover. Might even frame one.

Love em both, but he's right... they really don't mesh easily. This creative team will pull it off though.

I wonder if the actual IDW turtles are meeting the Ghostbusters or if it's just a generic TMNT universe. That raises questions about who the villain would be...

Savanti Romero makes the most sense regardless. I could see this story being related to the 2014 Annual and Turtles in Time.

With Eric Burnham being a guest writer I should have thought this possible but this is out of leftfield. Can't complain for this unique crossover considering two men that should be among the most trusted creators are overseeing this project.

Who might this villain from the turtles past following them and making trouble for them be? Could it be their past as in appeared in another incarnation yet not yet in IDW's TMNT or past as in played apart in the IDW turtles' past, new altogether or old renewed? That term can be taken two different ways.

Glad folks are psyched!

This story is in continuity for both books, so it's the IDW Turtles.

Psyched! Made my day.

The dimension hopping approach works much better than them inhabiting the same NYC. Part of the reason I was happy the Conspiracy books ended up non-canon.

That is awesome to hear. I also thought I heard there would be a big announcement in terms of Ghostbusters at SDCC this year, would this be it?

Venkman: Come in, Ray!
Stantz: I saw it Venkman, I saw it!
Venkman: He's right here Ray... he's looking at me.
Stantz: He's an angry little spud, isn't he?
Raphael: *growl*
Venkman: I think he can hear you, Ray!
Stantz: Don't move, he won't hurt you!
