Redditgifts exchange project

A few days ago a friend seent me this link for a TMNT related item exchange project.
TMNT - Redditgifts

I serached the forum for any topic related to this and all I could found was this post, so I thought it deserved it's own thread.

The idea is to sign up and give a little profile of your likes about the turtles.
When the date comes, you recibes someone else's adress and send them a gift they may like, recomended around 20$

I really think it's a great idea and a nice way to share out love for turtles.
650 people already signed, you guys dig?

I gave some thought to it but I'm figuring I'll probably just end up receiving something from one of Playmates' awful current lines, or something from the past I already have. So it's a pass for me. Cool idea, though.

I'm participating! I also volunteered to be a rematch for people whose first match doesn't follow through. I promise good things!

I'll keep my fingers crossed then, because my santa hasn't pulled my info yet... T___T
Living in Spain is harder to get really exclusive stuff, but I'll try my best to make my gift special ^__^

Well, this didn't turn out as I expected for me, but it's a nice story anyways.

My mistery friend from Arizona already has his gift so I think I can tell you what I did for him.
The original idea was to send him a comission made ilustration of his fav secondary character, Metalhead, so he could frame it and maybe get it signed someday knowing none else would have that same art, but all te artist I contacted claimed the time was too short you a proper work so I had to think something else.
I looked in the internet for a Metalhead sprite I could use to make some hama beads design when I found a fantastic work with a Shredder sprite (I think it's from som SNES game).

Some friends of mine do hamas for hobby and said the design was not particulartly complicated, so I went to their place and we did it in a couple of sessions. I'll edit the post and show you the work finished soon.

Unfortunately, the person who was supposed to send me a gift never took my info neither checked my profile or anything like that. I don't know how the paring are set, but the good thing about redit is that you can check all this even if you don't know the other person.

Deadline arrived and my Santa didn't show up, so another Santa was named for me (apparently it's called rematch santa). He contacted me a few days ago asking for details of my adress because he already has it ready for me.

So far it hasn't been a very bad first experience, but as you can see you really can't tell what's gonna come out of things like this. I really hope I enjoy my gift, I promise to show you the one I did.

EDIT:
Here's the pic of my gift, once framed by its new owner. Quite proud of how it turned out ^__^

Maybe a story of how the turtles have influenced you over the years, what they mean to you, the joy they've brought you, stories of some of your fondest memories/experiences, pictures from your past and something really unique and creative?

I'm sorry your first Santa flaked on you, some people only want to recieve, luckily reddit is full of more people who want to give. I hope you get something at least one one-hundredth as rad as that shredder. Seriously do want.

I'm sure he hears that at every con, and how it's now a bonding exprience between parents and their kids and blah blah blah I think for him something customized would be sweet. Like maybe a Kevin neca scale fig, or commission an artist to put him and his family in a panel, maybe a Michael bay voodoo doll.

Well well well,

Wednesday, September 3rd, I've recived my first Secret Santa gift.
Yes, you've read right, FIRST because another tracked package is on it's way and it's already in my country.

While I (eagerly) wait for the second to be in my hands, today I got this delivered

Not the fanciest poster ever, an not any of the items mentioned on my wishlist, but I assume beeing thankful is also part of the game.
