I think the important thing is that if they replaced something ridiculous with something just as ridiculous, it isn't because they were afraid of being ridiculous. It's not part of some initiative to make TMNT realistic.

Its borderline pathetic for adults to get upset with a movie like this. It was a Ninja Turtles movie, and they did a great job with the turtles. It never got boring, the end was almost non-stop action

Some of us find bland, not-stop, poorly shot action to be pretty boring.

I'm sorry that when people I know (who I trust very much) see the flick and tell me that 'hey, your favorite turtle, Raph? He's not much of a badass in this one and he doesn't do much Martial Arts, and your second favorite Mikey? He farts'...that it aggravates me at least just a tad instead of going 'Oh wow! Take My Money!'
I know, shame on me. |

You're kidding! They made sense out their love of Pizza! Like actual sense?
Noooooooo....I don't believe you! Now I MUST go and pay 15 dollars to learn the secret of Pizza love! The genius of it all. Did you laugh, like, really hard at the fart joke? Was it, (gasp), everything you hoped for? Quote:

Yep, now that I've seen it, I understand why fans are unhappy with the change. It just sort of asked way too much suspension of disbelief and scrapped a huge portion of the entire core of the whole thing in the process.

The Internet itself is the wrong place for such things!

I do kinda wish they would have went the Yoshi gets mutated into a rat route like the old cartoon as I always thought that was the best version of his mutating origins. |

Because of the origin story in the first film, Splinter learning ninjitsu from a picture book doesn't affect me that much. I don't really like it, but I'm not mad. What I want to know is though, where the hell did they get their weapons?! The chucks and bo staff are obviously made, but the sais and a freaking katana?

I think it depends on the type of change and how drastic.
If the change is done right and to a point, then it can work. But, sometimes even if the change is done right, it's not necessary to fix what isn't broken. (Like if they made Donnie the leader and executed it well and fit it well in the story, it's not something that needs to be dabbled in) I think fans aren't upset about the changes so much as HOW they are executed or why. I'm pretty open to changes, I mean, I was probably the only person I knew who was alright with Eric being Shredder. But, some of the changes don't set with me because they are poorly done.

At least there's still the DVD, which will probably be packed with deleted scenes and explanations. |

Maybe he got inspired and tried to recreate his own Shredder armor because Saki inspired him. Maybe Saki was thought to be a legend but wasn't dead and shows up at the end...that would be cool. You can feel like Shredder is slapped on in this movie. The main villain was suppose to be Sacks, even the plan sounds like Sacks. I guess some good came from the uproar and some bad came from the uproar. Quote:
They did seem to stick to the bare minimum, I think due to time, budget and re-writes tho.

Though, it was proven time and time again here, that usually this argument falls on deaf ears. |
