I asked the Artist who did some of the character designs for the movie about the sequel, And this is what he replied to me.

Yeah, we know he's the leader, but it would be nice if we can get a scenario to show how cool, calm and calculated he can be under pressure.
Leo was fine. He had fun dancing in the elevator, he participated in buck buck, and did the splits on stuff while holding eggs with chopsticks. I think that was enough to make this version of him stand out, compared to the other versions I have seen of him.

Keep that guy away from the sequel, at all costs. I don't want to see his version of anything.

just imagine his version of Bebop......let that imagery swim around in your brain for a little while. Think of all the Rob Liefeld straps and pants made out of turtle bones. SO epic!

Well...glad I never saw/supported this film and glad that I never will.

Movies like Edge of Tomorrow & Dredd flop, actual good movies who don't get the support...and yet films like this do.

Congratulations.

Agree to disagree. His best moment was when he threw his sword at Shredder. I didn't care for the "punishment" scene at all. I really disliked Splinter in this. I really wouldn't have minded if they had just killed him off period.

They're the next Orci and Kurtzman.

Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum have a good track record. Most of their movies got above 50% and their work on TV shows averaged to about 7/10. It seems like the writers were conflicted with Jonathan Liebesman. A movie does poorly if the writer and director can't communicate and work together properly.

Edit: Also Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum were only responsible for rewrites on certain parts.(Well it seems like it) They are not responsible for the full plot.
You do know these two were the Blue Door writers, right? Liebesman is getting too much blame.

Platinum Dunes is just as big (probably bigger) of a problem. The writers and director they hired are just studio yes-men.

As you can tell, I am happy. I don't care what all these haters say, I thought the new TMNT movie, while it had plenty of issues, was great, and I can't wait to see more

That's the nature of the mindless popcorn biz. Just turn of your brain and enjoy the film for what is.

Glad to hear that there will be another one. While I wasn't amazed by this movie, I thought it was decent enough.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing the writing team quit and new ones come on board. As much as some of us fanboys and fangirls are happy the movie was better than our low expectations, there is a ton of room for improvement.

Or Jon just needs to let the writers do their job. Jon needs to trust them. I know Jon tends to do some writing for his movies. He did work on a movie that got 67% from Rotten Tomatoes, so I think the relationship between the writers and the director are important.

Yeah, each character needs to be distinct. I didn't pick up on them being too similar in the movie but I can see it now. I think it is because Raphael was not given scenes to show his berserker side, which is the main difference between Leo and Raph. Instead Raphael was forced into the "I care about family" cliche. Seriously, Raphael cares about his independence. Leo cares for unity. See the impending conflict by putting those types together.

Leo was dominant in this film though; he made multiple attempts to put Raphael in his place and showed confidence when confronting Raphael. Most people wouldn't have the confidence to stand up against a 6' tall muscular mutant. lol

These types of films usually have multiple writers, anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if someone else comes on board to write another draft when they're done.

Better story with less rewrites and a better director could make the next movie better.

Yeah. All empty statements like a person that hasn't seen the movie.

Enough with the 'Us vs. Them' bullsh*t.

Yeah? I've seen the thing, and I've substantiated exactly why I feel it's a legitimately bad movie. I'm getting lumped in as a "hater" too, aren't I? Tell me again where this "'us vs. them' ********" is coming from.

I was referring to Leo656.

But yeah. Get all offended. If I was talking about you I would've mentioned you.

And its coming from both damn sides.
