I think they handled Raph just fine.
I don't understand why some fans just wants him on PMS all the time. |

Whoa, didn't expect to run into such sensitive topic, but:

I feel that Nick has done a much better job adapting the Leo one-shot, while 4Kids did a better job adapting TMNT #10, as Nick barely did any homage to #10 other than the first and last page. Everything in the middle has been replaced by the invasion plot. If I create comparison shots of 4Kids' The Shredder Strikes Back 2-parter vs Mirage, I can hardly find common scenes between the cartoon and Leo #1, as it was raining (not snowing) and Leo was hopping on rooftops being hunted by Foot ninjas, Foot Mechs and Hun (not trapped into a construction site and into the icy water). The only relevant part is the appearance of the Foot Elite. And later Leo crashed through the window the opposite way too (face first instead of shell first). In comparison, Nick's adaptation is much closer to the comic, up to this point. However, right after this point, which is where Leo #1 ends and TMNT #10 starts, the 4Kids adaptation is almost a panel-by-panel clone of the comic. Everything from the Foot ambush, Splinter catching an arrow by hand, the staircase trip downstairs, the fight in the antique shop, Casey Jones' surprise entry, the fire, and the narrow escape via the cooling unit vent was faithfully remade. Nick did none of these, and skipped straight to the escape-to-North-Hampton arc right after the invasion plot. To be honest, I absolutely love 4Kids' and Nick's takes on the 2-parter, they are both excellent in their own ways. However I'd give Nick extra credit by incorporating a well known story into their own continuity seamlessly, while 4Kids pretty much tagged along the comics' storyline for most of their continuity. Besides, there is that poster from SDCC. The turtles are all there, but the one fighting Shredder in stealth, and possibly rage mode, is Raph. He was losing it when he saw Splinter getting pummeled and probably would've gone full rage if Mikey hadn't comforted him and calmed him down. Seriously, imo, that is the best Mikey moment in the entire series for me and the best moment between them, imo. I'm sure something will top it in the future, but the feels!! Just can't get around that. |

They're handling Raph's personality fine, but they aren't giving him any good arcs. I was hoping that he was gonna go apeshit when he saw Leo thrown through the window like how he went nuts when Shredder threw Splinter down the drain, so I was a bit disappointed with that. |

Seeing Splinter getting beaten was different. He was right there and couldn't help him. For this incarnation, it feels appropriate. IMO, if he had seen Leo being attacked, by them and Shredder, I'm positive he would've gone rage mode. I still feel that if Mikey hadn't calmed him down, he would've gone after Shredder, or tried. He was going into a rage mode. If they go the route, if they face Shredder again and they don't know that Splinter's alive, and Shredder confidentially and arrogantly toys with them saying that he's dead, I could see Raph going into a serious rage mode...or as serious censors can allow him to be. I like that SDCC poster with the turtles in the back with Raph in stealth/rage mode fighting Shredder. I want this to become a reality for this show. That aside, I also could see Raph being snappy with everyone in season 3 and maybe Mikey will be the only one capable of keeping him calm. I also wonder now, as some others mentioned, when, and if, Raph finds out that Donnie's arguing with Leo caused them to get separated in the first place and that April bringing Irma to the lair which started the invasion, if he's going to take out most of his frustrations on them, especially April. It would interesting to see April have that type of conflict with one of the turtles and those around them (Mikey, Donnie, Casey) dealing with it. Anyway, that's what I think may happen. Only time will tell. |

I loved the episode! I thought it was very good and I loved the references to the Leonardo issue of the Mirage comics and them going upstate. Overall was a fantastic episode.

The Earth Protection Force from the 2003 series was referenced? I totally missed that. Does anyone have a picture of their logo or something that shows this. I saw the soldiers but I totally missed that they were the EPF.

The EPF logo can also be found printed at the side of their tanks, this is the clearest shot I have, zoomed in, flipped and adjusted the contrast to see it better: ![]() The "E" is styled like a globe grid shape and the "P" & "F" surrounds the "E" in a very Triceraton-design-like shape. A LOT is yet to be revealed in Season 3! |

By the way, am I the only one seeing things or did Ciro Nieli tried to write his name on the tanks as well, but didn't quite look like it?

Awesome comparison shots from the comics and Nick's adaptation. Can't wait to watch this on TV and agree that Nick's adaptation is loads better than 4Kids' adaptation. So I have two questions:
1. How did Leo lose his swords? 2. Did Leo say anything after he was thrown through the window? I really hope that they don't magically heal Leo up at the start of season 3 and that he still has battle scars.

Okay I won't lie, after taking such a long hiatus from this show and seeing those comparison pics to the Leo one-shot, I'll make it a priority to watch this when it's released on TV (since I usually don't watch episodes online) just to watch this whole scene.

![]() ... which he used it to defend himself until he got pushed down a slope and into the icy water. He was shown without any weapon left after he climbed out of the water. And no, Leo was already unconscious while he crashed through the window. He was barely breathing and remained unconscious throughout the rest of the episode. He didn't even get the chance to warn his brothers about Shredder, like Mirage/4Kids' Leo did. By the way, the part that he pulled out the shorter knife out of the hand-grip of his sword, has he done that in any previous episode before? I can't recall. |

I am 90% sure there is a real Irma out there.
Remember in the Mousers Attack episode, where you can see Irma's face on April's phone before it gets smashed? The show has stated that the season 1 finale happened about a year before this one, and April shouted, "My best friend for the past year has been a robot!" But April has known Irma longer than a year, because the Mouser episode happened WAY before the season 1 finale. So maybe that sentence could be rephrased as "My best friend has been a robot for the past year!" I'm hoping this is true, but it could just be a mistake by the writers. Maybe Irma is being held by the Kraang somewhere? I seriously want to believe a real Irma is out there. I really liked her in this show most of the time.
