The one I have I got from AU, it does not look like the link you gave me (which uses the US artwork). It looks just like the UK one. I'm at work right now but I got mine a long time ago.

I see. I just got mine 2 months ago, from JB Hi-Fi in Melbourne.

I timed it the best I could with the previous comparison, here's from the new UK DVD:

there is a small black border on both sides, not sure if that's the same with the original UK DVD

Looks like the same source as before. Donatello's bo staff is cropped, and there are aliasing artifacts at diagonal lines such as the top of Raph's head and his feet. And yes the black borders were also there previously.

You're welcome If I didn't already have Season 3 Box 1 I would have snatched it myself the first second I seen it.

I'm confused, as I'm sure many people are who are trying to collect all of the 2K3 series. Box 1 says that it contains volumes 1-3 of season 3 and Box 2 contains volumes 4-6 of season 3. Weren't there 7 volumes in total though? The Boxes do say they contain 13 episodes each though, so that sounds good.
I'll keep a look out for it and let you know if I ever come across it. Yes there was 7 volumes for the American Season 3 releases but the Australian Season 3 releases are different. With the Australian release all the episodes are actually in the right order, not messed up like the American ones. Season 3 Box 1 has 3 discs which contains the first 13 episodes of Season 3 and Box 2 has 3 discs with the other 13 episodes.

As an owner of the previous UK release, I can tell you that this release is 100% identical.

Why would Nick re-release this for no reason? They must have something planned for the 2K3 series if they can be bothered to re-release the movie.

And then the second half of Season 4 is released as a standalone Season 4 set. In Australia, there are 4 sets (Season 3 box 1 & 2, Season 4 box 1 & 2), each set contains 13 episodes in 3 discs. Each disc is considered as a "volume" so box 1 contains volumes 1-3 and box 2 contains volumes 4-6, simple as that. And as an added advantage, all episodes are correctly arranged in chronological order! Oh, and the final episode of Season 4, Ninja Tribunal is included in Australian Season 4 box 2 but not included in the US Season 4 release. It was pushed into the Season 5 release instead.

Cheers, that cleared things up. The US really messed up, didn't they?

Thanks! Box 1 has been dispatched now. Hope the customs charge won't be too high, I try to avoid ordering stuff from abroad besides the US. I always end up getting screwed over. At least this order didn't cost that much in the first place, so a small customs charge won't be so bad. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

If you really want to get picky about it, the only difference between the previous UK release and the new release is that on the new release the Nick logo is at the bottom, the DVD logo is replaced by the yellow/white PG logo and the original yellow/white PG logo is replaced with a white/blue PG logo. That's it.

Will do buddy, will post it up on Sunday from my parents.

Shall I do a complete scan and let you guys do what you must to it?
Cheers Longview01 and evan2000 for suggesting it!

If it's not too much trouble could you do a full scan but if not the spine is fine for me as well just in case I get another duplicate from amazon, appreciate you going out of your way.

Actually the season 3 & 4 DVD boxed sets released in Australia aren't in the correct episode order either, several episodes are in wrong order in season 3 and 4.

That's actually a pretty unfortunate shot due to Leo/Raph standing at the extreme edges of the image, making them fatter than usual. Splinter, Don and Mikey looks fine. Anyhow it's still an improvement over linear scaling where everyone looks equally fat:

Right? You can tell from Don's face alone.

Yeah i usually watch it in widescreen on my dvd player. I prefer that than the 4x3 with black bars. I honestly don't notice that they are fatter, it looks natural.

Yes, objects near the edges will look fat regardless, I acknowledged that. But at least the center looks normal, coz there's where your eyes will be looking at most of the time.

And then there's Mikey's head. You're fighting a losing battle. Anything that was made in 4:3 should be viewed in 4:3, there's no substitute.

What? I'm not even trying to win, in fact I did say from the beginning that the conversion isn't always perfect. But most of the time it works, as the center of attention is mostly at the... well, center. You have no idea how gorgeous this series looks on a large HDTV with no black borders at the side (as I'm watching right now), especially with this non-linear scaling applied and proper upscaling tools to make it look pretty close to 720p quality!
