Okies, finally had some time to watch this... less funny than I had hoped but it was an ok filler episode I suppose.

Okay. I just realized that I haven't given my full thoughts on this episode yet. Welp, here I am. lol

I liked this episode okay. Much better than last week's, imo, but I have been spoiled by The Wrath of Tigerclaw. I thought it was pretty amusing and it was fun hearing Raph talk like a Kraang. Of course we all know that Leo and Mikey could've pulled it off flawlessly. lol I didn't know that Raph's 2k7 VA voiced the Kraang so it was like Raph was switching with himself. lol

I think it would've been great, though if they would've had more switching around at the end when trying to reverse everything. Donnie switching places with Raph after Raph was switched back to himself would've been great! Anyone else think so? Or Leo with Mikey or Donnie with Casey or whatever....but yeah, the Donnie and Raph thing I would've liked for obvious reasons. Raph switching with himself twice.

Casey and April switching was interesting and Casey checking himself out was so....boyish to me. When he was switched back, I found his comment, "I kinda like being a girl" pretty funny because I wasn't expecting it. His anime line was great too, so I know something else about Casey. He likes subtitled anime. I still know more about him than April...kinda sad.

Oh, I loved how Casey and Mikey were teasing Raph. When Casey started laughing over Raph's mind being switched with a Kraang, I thought back to when Raph laughed over April being followed by a giant pigeon back on season 1. It just reminded me of that and how Raph was the only one laughing. When Casey and Mikey were laughing and poking Raph-Kraang was great. At least we see that he and Mikey have something in common or similar humor sides.

Oh, when Mikey was trying to wake up Raph while slapping him and Donnie had to stop him, I laughed for some reason. I think Mikey likes finding an excuse to hit Raph. In Pizza Face, when Mikey had to fight back against his brothers, he was like "Sorry Donnie. Sorry Leo." But when he slammed that heavy bag of flour onto Raph, "I'm not sorry, Raph." Or something like that. What do you think?

You know, I'm surprised that Raph didn't try to beat down (in a comical sense) Casey and Mikey after getting his body back. I know he slapped them, but I was expecting more.

To be honest, I just don't see this as being a filler episode, since something occurred in it that actually moves the plot along. Pizza face was definitely filler. Fungus Humungous was fillerish, despite being a good Leo development episode. The ep with the wasps seemed filler-like, but not this one. I only say this because we learned something that will further along the plot because of Raph's switch with the Kraang. We learned what they were up to and what they were up to and now that the Turtles have this info, they can act on it to try and stop them.

Not a bad episode, not really memorable but still entertaining. And now we know the Kraang have been using their time to prepare something big in the near future.

Overall, I wish they develop the Kraang more, they're still one-dimensional and well.. well just boring. None of them seem to have a personality at all.

By the way, loved Casey's laugh in this episode.

True, I guess it felt like filler to me in that most of it was fluff with maybe 30 seconds of serious stuff at the end - and stuff we've already seen before (in terms of it's another Kraang invasion)... I guess I'm kind of just hanging out for the Shredder and Miwa/Karai storyline a bit more than I am anything to do with the Kraang.

I think Casey laughing at Raph might have been a bit of revenge for when Raph laughed at Casey for being scared of rats.

What's funny is I watched the OS episode, "The Old Switcheroo" right before watching this. Coincidence that this new ep was the same formula with the brain-swap thing. Tho the one thing I liked better about "The Old Switcheroo" is that the voices spoken still belonged to the body they were in; i.e. Splinter in Sherdder's body, his voice was still Shredder's, etc. Overall tho I thought the episode was good. The April-Casey switch was funny. And I agree with Casey on the animes dubbed verses subbed, if it's one I'm really into (dialog doesn't transfer well when it's English-dubbed).

There's another OT ep that involved two people switching. I can't recall the name of the episode, but it was, ironically, a Raph ep. He ended up switched with a cab driver I think...or were there two eps where Raph ended up mind swapped with someone? I think there was another ep where he ended up mind swapped with one of the many gangsters the show had.

I just found it ironic that out of all of the turtles, they used Raph for this as Raph was the only one from the OT that comes to mind who had his mind swapped.

That one was Raphael Drives Em Wild, I think. They kept their voices in that one too.

I think the other episode you're thinking of in the OT (or OS, whatever) is "Raphael, Turtle of a Thousand Faces", where Raph dresses up as that ganster, Maddog McMutt. Wasn't a mind-swap thing tho.

Totally love this episode.

When Kraang Raph looked at his rflection, I remember that gif someone made with him as Mulan and just laughed out loud.

I agree, the humor was much more organic rather than then the forced grotesqueness of "Pizza Face" and previous Season 2 episodes. The situational humor provided comic relief (Raph being the Kraang, Casey and April switching bodies, Casey and Mikey bonding over teasing Raph, the pigeon and man swapping minds) at the right timing and situations, within and between the fighting scenes, without making it inappropriate as in the "Invasions of the Squrrielanoids" when the Turtles made fun of Raph's more dire situation. In addition, it didn't make Mikey's stupidity so extreme here!

**Reads the lead writer for the episode*** Hmmm, a new writer. No wonder the humor was different and refreshing rather than falling on the conventional "dumb and loud Mikey" humor, and ill-mannered childish behavior. If it can continue on this trend (**sigh** don't let me down again Nick, c'mon now... ), I might enjoy the show's humor more.

...And thank goodness the crush thing between Donnie and April is being pulled back where he isn't losing his head over her when she's around.

Ah, that's it. My mistake with that one. So it was only once.

Donnie's crush on April has been downplayed a lot this season in general, imo, unless there was a good reason for it...like in The Wrath of Tigerclaw. She was in danger and he was concerned since she wasn't answering her phone.

Even in Pizzaface, you saw him call her, since she was late or whatever, yet he never went out to find her to see if she was in danger or in trouble (this is another reason why I feel that Pizzaface was all a dream of Mikey's). lol

Not a terrible episode but rather generic, the OT did the body switching a lot better IIRC. We hadn't had such a generic Kraang episode in a while. So, that's the Technodrome? I forgot if they had already introduced it..what's up with the Death Star rip-off design they used in Turtles Forever and now here? I hate it, the eye was iconic and no sillier than other things in the turtles universe, at least not in 2k3/Nick..

Ah...a token mindswitch episode.
But it was not bad. I liked Raph as Kraang and it would be nice, if it has sticked for maybe 2-3 episodes. But well, you can't have a lot of nice things.

April and Casey switch at the end was unnecessary, IMO, but it certainly was some sort of homage to the OT episode "Old Switcheroo" down to the same split screen effect.

And Turtles has invaded Technodrome for the first time in the series (post S1 finale)!! Yey.

Finally it seems it was setting up an upcoming Kraang invasion, which is nice twist for otherwise filler episode.

I love anything to do with the technodrome. Loved the OT episodes where the guys broke in. The tech and shear size of that place always fascinated me as a kid. That Kraang laugh in this episode still cracks me up. Sounds so much like my screen reader when he does that.

How is it filler if it affected the main plot or had something occur that affected it or will?

Well, aside from setting up Kraang invasion it had little to do with main plot and was rather generic "Turtles vs Kraang" episode.
