It has it's charms. Heck, one of the reasons i refuse to buy the DVDs is they edited out my favorite joke.

"But the rat had a stick..."
"And what did the Turtle have? A pink flower!?"

I like it, it has its pros and cons but people only focus on the cons. And TNM is totally in continuity with the original movies.

I got excited when Saban released the two volumes on DVD. I guess that says something there lol. So yes; I am a fan of the Next Mutation and I remember that day when I was about 10/11 years old, excited and anxiously waiting for it to come on.

I'm sorry but there is just nothing I liked about the show. The toys I loved actually but the show was such a power ranger rip that I just couldn't stomach it.

Yeah, that bothered me at the time too. I hated Power Rangers, so seeing TMNT go that route was not at all what I wanted to see at that point in time.

Like I said, I've warmed up to it since then, but at the time, I detested it.

Wouldn't call myself a fan. I never really cared for the Power Rangers myself, and seeing TMNT go that route... just... ugh.
It was extremely cheesy (not the good kind, either), only had a few good jokes, obviously catered to the younger crowd, yeah, there's a reason it never lasted more than a season. I can see why people like it though

I'm a big PR fan, but I never felt the Turtles fit into the same kind of mold. A pity too, because the Dragon Lord had loads of potentia

The show itself is very bad and grating at times, and not in the good cheesy way. It had some good concepts in the villains that could have been interesting, but it just wasn't handled well.

Did the Power Rangers phenomenon even last for long? Because I was in elementary school when PR were on and I don't really recall other kids talking about it much. Most talked about Pokémon, some Cartoon Network cartoons of the time like Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, etc. and EVERYONE was obsessed with DBZ.

I had a green PR as a kid, but don't recall ever watching a single episode of the show.

I guess that depends on how old you are. I think it was like, '93/94, I was in 6th/7th grade, and kids just would NOT shut up about F'n Power Rangers. At that particular point in time, yeah, it was huge.

Ah, makes sense then. I got into school in 1996. I guess by the time the popularity had waned out a bit. A few kids still talked about it, though.

I watched it a little, but literally only for Amy Jo Johnson. I had it bad for her. BAD.

I recall that '96 was, I think, the year she left the show, and also the kids my age were all entering high school, so yeah, the primary audience was pretty much outgrowing it by then. At least the ones who started watching it when it began.

I mean c'mon, no Freshman is gonna stroll the halls wearing a Power Rangers shirt. Might as well just stuff yourself in a locker and save the Seniors some trouble.

Power Rangers just looked corny and cheap to me even as a little kid. The cartoons of my childhood are Cartoon Network's classics from Hanna-Barbera stuff to 90s stuff such as Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab. And, ofc, the original NT cartoon(re-runs).

I remember other people at school talking about Power Rangers around 1993/1994, but they stopped sometime after that. I never watched MMPR because I thought it was silly at the time. I did watch In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force, as those shows had a more serious tone and they were enjoyable. Most people at school preferred to talk about adult live-action shows, comedies and films like the X Files, Friends, Coronation Street, etc.

This series had some cool moments!

4). The sashes & costumes.

3). Mikey doing the Sewer Hour.

2). The debut of Raph driving a motorcycle.

The #1 answers; When Mikey played the organ in The Good Foot + the music video promo of the series where they played as a band! Mikey rocked the drums!

The villains were great, had some of the best archs within the franchise with unchain my heart. There's just so much good in this series. And it comes no where near the crap we got in the 2014 film and 2012 series!!!!
I dont see why anyone would think Next Mutation was supposed to be gritty or dark, it was a kids show that came on Fox's block for kids. It was just a horrible show with horrible costumes, horrible dialogue, and horrible story. It was utter ****.

Your last line just blows my mind tho. I dont see how anyone could prefer Next Mutation over the new movie, thats insane to me. To each their own I guess tho.

Well, for one thing, Next Mutation only has to be endured for about 25 minutes at a time. That's one advantage it has over the movie.
