And visually, he's definitely turned a corner. Those two movies are wonderfully shot. Not just good for a Kevin Smith movie, but GOOD good. If your last impression of Kevin was "Cop Out" then you have to give his newest stuff a shot. |

Something else just crossed my mind. What if Ciro & co. had an opportunity to make a live action TMNT one day?

Nah, honestly the last one of his flicks I caught was Clerks 2. Just haven't been interested in the others yet. I'll get to 'em, I guess, just haven't had any urgency.

David Fincher, or maybe David Fincher. It's a toss up.
I would like to see David Fincher do his take, but then again David Fincher might be a bold choice. In the end, I'd love to see David Fincher, David Fincher, or at the very least, David Fincher. Any of the above would be great. |

Ronny Yu. He worked in Hollywood and Hong Kong. He made action movies and martial arts movies. He is experienced and has a dynamic style.

Whedon, because he makes fun, fast paced, genre savvy media.
Favreau, for the same reason. Barron, because he's the one who got it the most right. Rodriguez, because he excels at making movies that entertain the whole family. Nieli, because he knows the source material well.

All mine^, but add Russo bros (CA:TWS was excellent). And Sam Raimi (Spiderman 2 was great) to the mix.

YES. BARRON. He knocked it out the park first time around. It would've been awesome if he had two different films on his resume both called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He gave the thumbs up to the new Turtles but thought the plot "didn't feel in any way real" so it's not likely he'd be interested in directing new TMNT films with bigger more sci-fi-ish plots.

I liked Man of Steel and Pacific Rim. The former was heavily flawed but not enough for me to hate the movie. |

But, seriously, if you want a hard edged, HBO series with an adult perspective on the Turtles, Fincher is the man. If you want a campy, schlocky, low budget, goofy film; Lloyd Kaufman is your choice. Not a judgement call, just a fact. If you like brainless, sloppy, storytelling, with big make-up and anamatronic set pieces that distract you from the shoddy acting; go with Del Torro. |

Not going to bother creating a director wish list for TMNT as long as Platinum Dunes is still behind it. You think any decent director is going to work with those guys?

This is likely one of the reasons you're on side with PDTMNT, and I am not. You think of them as super powered entities, altruistic, concerned with the safety of humanity; to me they are child soldiers, trained to kill, for revenge. They are scrupulous at best, anarchists at most. Our ideal turtles stem from very different iterations of who the turtles are. I doubt you'd have been pleased if they'd made the movie I wanted to see. Last edited by Commenter 42; 12-21-2014 at 03:58 PM. |

apart from del toro and rodriguez ( I agree they would both GET it and make it work wonderfully)
my wish would be for a) james cameron or b) clint eastwood (If they were intrigued by the material..) oh, I want to vote also for steve barron!not only is the first film just a great film but I am curious what he could pop up now with all the history the turtles have been through up to now..(I am talking about city at war, vol4 comics etc etc... |
