What a load of BS Playmates. The Adult Collectors are the ones supporting the turtles line not the kids 4 yrs old and up. No wonder Playmates pisses me off so much.
Not true...
Nick line = Kids buy it, adults buy it.
CC line = Only adults buy it.... but sales getting worse and worse since the first toon turtles came out (remember how great they were?) then BAM, CC line dead.

I'm fairly certain that's not the case, at all. I wish we could know what the actual statistics were, though it's impossible, really. But yeah, I feel like it can't be up for debate that parents/kids are getting these in higher concentration than our kind. I mean, think about it, are there more kids who play with toys, or adults who collect them? Seems obvious to me. Nonetheless I obviously share your frustration... & all of this could be resolved if they gave us collectors better treatment & actually interacted with/listened to fans.

Sorry, this topic is too big/messy to go through. So is the Classics TMNT line cancelled? We'll never see shredder?

It's not cancelled yet, it seems to be on hiatus. They're "re-evaluating" it after the sales for the last 2 sets were bad (which is not a surprise).

Just offer them on the playmates website if it could cost too much to get them out to stores.

I know some of you on here aren't fond of pixel Dan as you say he is buddy buddy with playmates but it was good to see him call out playmates and put them on the spot. He raised all the same points that are discussed here. The lack of paint detail, the mystic turtles being a huge disappointment, figures not matching up with the promotional images they release, not producing the figures the fans want like human karai and the other dream beavers. He threw all those jabs out there but he is respectful about it. He in no way gave them a pass but he does have a working relationship with them and can't burn that bridge.

I laughed as the guy sweated his way through all the questions but he still threw out there several times that it came down to cost. He mentioned that they are for kids and cut as much cost as they can and said that for adult collectors they have the more articulated and better painted stuff that costs more except...they put that on hold so no they don't.

Kuddos to pixel Dan for putting that issue with the mystic figures out there first to address the fans that were outraged.

Razhar Letherhead Bebop Rocksteady Casey Jones and Baxer Fly will be in the Mix and Match Line later. I hope that means Leatherhead and Razhar might be a tad taller.

Yeah, same here. I wouldn't mind a taller Razhar and Leatherhead. Thanks for posting the clips, Nelly. I don't dislike Pixel Dan. He seems like a real nice guy. I just don't expect any tear down reviews from him when it comes to Playmates Toys. Rather more like hype commercials, which I understand from a business partnership standpoint. It's probably never a good idea to rip on products harshly, when you're intending to develop a business relationship with the company responsible of said products. lol.

Someone made a good point here recently. He does make some of the nicest and clearest videos of these toys for anyone looking to study the details on them.

Very disappointed that Kraang Prime will be hallow and squishy and not nearly as big as he should be.

When was the TMNTC ever great?

The Toon Turtles are not based on the 1988 toys, nor are they screen accurate, as they are based on the modern retro artworks people have on T-Shirts. The articulation points are often loose, and at least my "Toon" figures have trouble standing without the base. They are flimsy, the feet can easily fall off since they are simple ball joints, yet they don't give any ankle pivot which is weird as the double jointed knees are now mostly just there.

The unnecessary finger articulation makes it difficult for the figures to properly hold their weapons, the shell is way too circular making it not covering the lower body properly, so the butt is visible from behind. Useless individual toe articulation. Lazy paint job, the eyes are all over the place. The weapons (except the Bo) have color coded paint, which isn't a FW cartoon thing.

Scale issues, these figures are way too big to be considered to be 1/12th scale as most collector based lines are, like Masters of the Universe Classics, DC Universe, Marvel Legends and NECA's basic figures.

And the "1990" movie figures have their issues as well. Still articulated fingers, but now a deeper groove in the hands for the weapons to be more secure, except. Noe leonardo can't hold the swords properly, which is a shame. Scale not fixed. The Head sculpts are seemingly done to be just barely "close enough". Paint job not very impressive and certainly do not invoke any Henson feel with textures or painted skin imperfections. The plastic/rubber used is of poor quality and the shoulders feel more fragile then the NECA figures, every time I try to move them it feels like they can snap any moment.

Considering these figures range from $20 at the very cheapest trying to sell them out. Cause the "toon" guys are a serious peg varmer here. To $36 which is more expensive then a MOTUCS figure that is way superior of these wannabe collector toys. They just aren't worth the price tag.

Bandai did similar mistake with their Thundercats Classics, the scale was way off (paint terrible and they had a cheap plastic feel). And they did try to fix it giving us a proper 1/12th scaled Lion-O, but then the line was dead.

The only reason I have a mild interest in R&B classics figures, is that they will be scaled nicely with my Nick basics and Revoltech figures, since the Nick styled R&B are so under scaled and Nick Rocksteady have a severe articulation loss. But, I'm not interested to pay retail price for R&B, and since they haven't even arrived here yet, I'm not interested in the extra cost it'll take t have them shipped, cause they ain't worth that price. I'll wait 'till they come here and the end up on clearance, and hopefully get cheaper then the "Toon" Classics "please buy us now" $20 price tag.

If Playmates had the barest effort, making the line in a actual 6-7 inch (1/12th scale) line, do a proper articulation job and basing the toys either on the 1988 toys or screen accurate, we might have gotten soemthing good.

TL;DR

They are the best representation of Fred Wolf Turtles...
If you think they aren't, then tell me what is.

EDIT:
Just read what you wrote..... seems like everything you listed are your minor nitpicks...
You're criticizing it as if you bought a Hot Toys figure. Just how much exactly do you think you paid for it?

I don't have any, but it is the exact same figure as the first release of the nick turtles only with painted pupils and their initials painted on their belt.

Neither $36 nor $20 is retail price.
Those are scalper price (or Amazon price if you get it now).
I don't think they are that price when these first came out.

I'm not from the US but i am pretty sure $20 is the price for giant 11" turtles....
and you paid $36 for CC turtles? Doesn't make sense why you're mad at Playmates for not giving you a figure which is worth $36.

You gotta be one of the biggest Playmates apologists I've ver encountered. And cute try to use hyperbole with the Hot Toys comment, but no.

Don't be stupid, these things have a piece tag of a MOTUCS figure, DCU, Marvel Legends and they have the Classics label, which carries a certain credit and it's geared at collectors. One would expect a item to have the quality that follows.

TMNTC do not. The Nick Basics are better figures then the TMNTC figures, and they cost half the price.

Doesn't make sense to me that you're comparing Playmates Toys to other toy companies. It was their first take into "collector's quality" figures.

I love CC turtles.
This is what my collection looks like.

Movie turtles are not out yet where i live but you know i'm gonna buy doubles.
