Why would you want to reboot something that just rebooted?

It's fine as it is. Expand the story and there you go.

Fun fact your sig is inaccurate. The unadjusted 22nd highest grossing movie of all time worldwide is Despicable Me 2-
http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/

TMNT 2014 isn't even in the top 100.

It's not even the 22nd unadjusted in America/domestically, that's Star Wars Episode III-
http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/domestic.htm

It's also not even in the top 100 unadjusted domestically/in America.

He knows, he just don't want to change it. It's been debunked in a previous thread dealing with the boxoffice stuff.

You know, I was wondering where the number in Shark_Blade's had come from. I couldn't find anything on Forbes about it.

Not surprised it's inaccurate.

According to Mulder's first link, it's the 142nd highest-grossing film.

Welcome to the Drome, where logic is eschewed in favor of fallacy. Shark_blade is a Troll, while others here actually believe 2014 was the greatest film of all time.

Goodnight, and good luck.

Sure, but my point was about Transformers, a franchise four movies deep. If TMNT 2 fails, then you'll be absolutely right. However, if the first Transformers was so disliked, why would people go see the second one? If that one is so widely disliked, why would they go see the third one? And if that one is so widely disliked, why did the fourth one make buku dinero? That's my point.

Yep. Worldwide, it actually comes in at 142nd, just below Shrek and just above Saving Private Ryan

Domestically, it's 167th, just below Cars 2, and just above Men In Black II.

People liked the first one. That's why the second made way more money. The second disappointed people, so the third make way less money, even though nearly everyone agrees that the third was better than the second. So, the fourth one did well because the third one was good. I didn't see the fourth one, but I've heard it's awful. Spider-Man 2 was awesome, so 3 is the biggest earning Spider-Man movie of all, even though everyone agrees it was the worst one. People buy tickets based on expectations, not quality. They kind of have to.

This last Turtles movie was a financial success, but they could totally make changes based on reactions and reception. That's normal and common. I assume that's what will happen with Transformers, if this last movie is as bad as people say it was.

Logic!
Well someone better clue in Michael Bay himself into that logic because he's publicly stated more than once that he knows a lot of fans hate his Transformers movies but pay to see them anyway,

My personal opinion has long been that the high box office of Transformers movies is very deceptive.

Most people cop to Bay's first Transformers being decently executed for a concept completely foreign to cinema and most people would have said was unfilmable. It wasn't without flaws but simply pulling it off earned him a lot of faith.

Obviously there are people who genuinely liked the sequels and Bay has even built up a fanbase on their dubious merits but on the whole I think Chrisdude summed the rollercoaster people have had with the series. Not only have they reached a natural saturation point but also the the fact they they've all being varying degrees of awful has damaged the good faith hence why we're now seeing some notable decline.

In many ways you could see TMNT as a result of this. The vast majority of people viewed it as Michael Bay's Transformers but with turtles and it's had all the stigma and none of the leeway hence the much poorer box office. Also the fact that we've already had a movie which handled things pretty well means people are less inclined to give Bay/Liebesman props for getting a few things "right" and while yes there's a few who are also convinced they'll fix the designs, focus on the title characters and play things reasonably faithful to the source it's a lot less than were convinced Revenge of the Fallen would do the same.

Same here, but for me up to a degree. A lot of the Sam-Megan stuff was tedious to sit through, and I really wish there was a fan edit to cut those parts out. Other then that, the first and the fourth ones are easily the best.

With TMNT I think I'd wait for a reboot. Sure the first movie wasn't totally OK, but I'm fairly certain that Bay has been learning from his mistakes. I would have to see the second to definitively say if this iteration has gone down hill, because Bay could just as easily pull a surprise hit.

agreed I just ignore the human stuff. I think the 4th really did a good job and pushing the envelope with Optimus Prime's character in doubting humanity.

You are wrong on that. Both the third and fourth films decreased their domestic gross and increased their foreign gross from their last film.
