I like it when Fishface called himself Xever. Sorry Mikey, that name is way cooler.

Also Robbie Rist is awesome for bringing the 90's mikey surfer talk back. Now I have to get my Mondo Gecko figure out.

Yeah, Xever should have just kept being called Xever even after mutation. I can understand why they did it with Bradford because Rahzar is an iconic character, but Xever?

I'm betting they don't like Mikey much for giving them the 'mutant' nicknames, and even though I haven't seen the episode yet, I'm betting from this line alone Xever sounds pretty pissed.

Xever is still called Xever, he even objects to Mikey calling him 'Fishface.' If he were to adopt the name for himself I'd say yeah, it's more original having him stay 'Xever,' but so far that seems light-years from even happening. Both Xever and Bradford look much like they'd rather take both of Mikey's nun-chucks and ram them up his butt whenever they get called the names, so I don't think anything really got changed.

Nicknames are a good taunt? Calling him Xever as he wants might be too much respect shown to an enemy.

Now Tiger Claw on the other hand, I'm surprised they haven't come up with a taunting name for him, but I suppose he's dangerous enough that their encounters with him just haven't given them time to bother considering it.

Great episode! Super fun! I love Mondo Gecko and I think Nick did him justice. The only thing that really bothered me was that Mondo says he has to lick his eyeballs because geckos don't have eyelids, well that's true, mostly. African fat-tailed geckos, which is what Mondo appears to be, are the only species of gecko to actually have eyelids.

I also like how Xever decided put himself in the race, because he wanted to be the center of attention. It felt very in character for him do that base on the interactions with him and Bradford.

Lol, I did catch that they looked like Xever. I'd have to watch it again for the comedic timing though.

I have to say though the way Raphael was playing with his action figures looked really weird. Playing with action figures is not childish but the look he had on his face looked pretty odd on Raph.

Fishface has fallen out of Shredder's favor now that he has stronger mutants like Rahzar, Tiger Claw, Bebop/Rocksteady, etc.

Fishface needs to do something in his free time.

Wow. Now this was a great episode! Not only did it introduce a character OT fans enjoyed, or even the voice of the 1990 film Michelangelo (thanks to Robbie Rist), but it was stronger than the last two episodes. I did enjoy "Noxious Avenger", and "Clash of the Mutanimals" did leave off a good feeling for me, but this one just proved to me that I have not lost interest in this show at all! I was impressed.

Funny thing: this race to live concept for Mikey kind of reminded me of this episode from Reboot called "Enzo, the Smart" (one of my favorites). Because the boy is responsible for dumbing down everyone in the city of Mainframe, he has to win an Olympics game himself so no one dies (or in the case of show, nullified). Seriously, if Ciro was inspired by that series, then I applaud him. It's a great show.

Yeah, I'm glad Xever doesn't like being called Fishface and prefers his real name. Makes more sense with the fact that he wants to be human and not a mutant.

Great episode! I loved it.

-As everyone else has previously mentioned, Robbie Rist was excellent as Mondo Gecko.
-Loved Mondo's design; he is so cute! Love that psychotic laugh--what a spaz!
-Sorry, but Raphael is past the age of playing with toys. That felt out of character to me. I think it was supposed to be adorable or something but it was off.
-I believe Mondo said he turned into a gecko about a year ago... That means the turtles are about 16--again, Raph should not be playing with toys like he's 10. (I have a feeling someone's gonna fight me on this lol like: "Hey! I'm 16 and I LOVE my action figures!"
-I also want to point out that Mondo is a leopard gecko which means that he shouldn't have sticky pads on his toes. And there is also no need for him to always lick his eyes as leos have eyelids and are the only geckos able to blink. Nerdy animal side showing right now--I'm just saying...They also don't use their tails to curl and grip nor do their tongues extend. u.u

Yeah I can agree with some of the things you said about the gecko anatomy since I'm a wild animal dork myself. I guess they used a leopard gecko for the majority of the base of the character (why not 100% I don't know) and added a few other general gecko normalcy's to the character, like the eyelids, sticky pads on the fingers, and long tongues.

Yeah, they could've just used the design of a tokay and everything would've made more sense. Though I'm not sure if their tongues extend that far. Or a panther gecko :3 Those are so cute. My roommate's kid had one but he didn't know how to take care of it and it died

Hmm, maybe they used a Mediterranean Gecko? We get them all over the place out here, and they have the sticky pads, extending tongues, AND lick their eyeballs! And they look fairly similar to a leopard gecko, too. (I thought that's what these were, for a long time, but turns out they just look kinda like them.) I wonder if Mondo's tail would come off? The little Mediterranean ones do. I find them inside at work sometimes, and always have a devil of a time catching them to take them back outside without their tails snapping off in reflex.
