In mean time, I have to show this pic of RC walking talking Leo. I think he's larger than I expected.
The RC motion is pretty neat as well. All in, I like this big guy.
Here he is compared to regular Leo and the 11" battle shell Leo.

I like the new turtle ride in the background. I love how it has the original vans' engine sticker. I will probably get the Leo RC as it becomes available at reduced prices.

Every comment thus far concerning the PM toys, you use lots of ***'s hmmm.
You will be disappointed with Mondo.
Mondo and Napoleon are very similar figures in build and paint aps. Personally, I like them and I'm sure they will be popular figures.

'Nap is probably my favorite figure this year. I'm pretty shocked we're getting him this soon.

The mutation on the car is impressive. You flip the front end over and it's all in one motion to turn it into a cool dragster. I like how the figure even gets encased inside.
The RC Leo: I don't know what the U.S. Retail is. I paid £50 for it.

It's totally cool to be a fan, but I honestly have no idea how you can support the Playmates line. They've driven it into the ground as far as figure quality goes. They are selling you rotocast figures without articulation that are equivalent to what you should be getting out of a $1 Claw grabber vending machine as a prize.

Seriously, fight your addiction and quit buying the Playmates stuff. You really do vote with your dollars.

"Stop buying things you like because I don't like them" is a pretty weak argument.

I agree with this.

Also we have to remember these toys are made for kids. The kids are buying these and enjoying them. We should be happy that they are because other toy lines that kids aren't interested in are either dead or on life support.

Haha. Now that did make me laugh out loud.
Yup, I like the playmates figures. I know what they are. Some are not as good as they could be, but that goes for goes for every toy line.
Hot Toys, who do amazing things get lots of complaints and picky little things at times.
We all like, admire, spend money on, and enjoy different things. I happen to like the playmates ranges of Turtles toys.

Kids deserve better.

that is the oldest excuse in the book. Look at Hasbro they are for kids and they still do 10x better than Playmates they have better articulation they have better paint apps they have an adult collector line and lines for children regarding Transformers and there Star Wars stuff.

I buy from a variety of toy companies and Playmates is the Laziest of them all. Heck some of the Blind Bag Vinyl companies do better than playmates

I go along with the line about kids deserving better.
That said, if playmates only made the four turtles, or a handful of figures, I'm sure they would be better.
If you compare the first releases to mirerwcebt releases, they are far superior. They have textured skin, a detail that was dropped with later builds. I believe the size of the range has a lot to do with this product line. There are few standard parts ( unlike MOTU) requiring complete molds for the new figures. Yes, there are exceptions, but on the whole this line tries to push out dozens of new figures each year. I think tbe volume if figures pleases kids a lot - maybe not their parents.

adding the black spots and painting the ankle band (whatever its called) should be easy to paint over. as well as painting his belly wait and part of the neck. all in all its a nice figure. and i dont have a problem adding a bit of paint. as for the articulation, i can live with it.

Articulation is something I like, but rarely use. Most figures I keep in packs. I get duplicates of a number of them, to populate vehicles and play sets !!

You've seen Mondo already? What paint aps are missing on him?

I've seen a lot of things already
I can't comment on paint apps. I mentioned to someone earlier that I had three versions of Bebop with different paint apps. One was, very pale in deed.
Even after release the paint is revised (ex Cockroach) in some cases .

Even if there's a chance that they revise Mondo can you still tell us what you saw. Your figures are really accurate to what we see when they're released.

As a rule, that's true .
I will say that mondo is on par with Napoleon.
I half expected Napoleon to have a touch more head detailing, but it never happened .
My first issue Karai had no red detailing in the mouth. In that case, the figures apps were upgraded.

Wasn't Napoleon supposed to have a play feature. The back of his card suggests so and IIRC something said earlier this year from the Toy Fair reports.

I am guessing a tongue that lashes out like Atillas, but removed since those teeth would get in the way.
