Yeah Casey's line was stupid. They could have easily left it out... or have him be like 'wait.... what???!!' and end it there. I mean, c'mon. Splinter was killed. Casey's family is dead, as as well anyone they have ever known and met, like Murakami and April's dad and so forth. Everyone is ****in dead.

And yes, if you're gonna go that dark, go all the way. If you want to end the episode on a stupid attempt to bring humor to the stupid kids at home that can't handle it.. then go back to having Shredder trying to blast the Turtles with the giggle ray and not have him actually friggin impale Splinter.

If they didn't then Ciro would be getting a lot of angry letters from angry parents.

Casey's line didn't bother me, I would have loved to see more angsty at the end but this is a kids cartoon not an adult cartoon.

If you want more angsty go read issue 44 and 45 IDW comic.

But while i'm on the moaning thread.

I did not like Mikey's acid trip, it was just wrong.
I didn't really like that trippy thing with Mikey either. Maybe if it was more toned down or less obviously inappropriate. When the same thing was Donnie in the 2k3 show and he managed to resist it through closing his mind with meditation (I think), if something like that happened with Mikey and he had to focus and fight back that would be really awesome.
But I wasn't that angry about it. It probably would have been funnier if Mikey wasn't begging for more and his eyes were enormous. It just grossed me out what they were obviously aiming to illustrate.

lol. Man, I thought that scene with a high Mikey was hilarious and ironic. They said that the procedure was supposed to be painful and unpleasant, but it was the total opposite...or maybe he was resisting some, hence the reaction. Why else couldn't they have extracted the information about the hidden Dimension X Kraang bases?

Normally I would been irritated at another force mikey humor, but yes the idea of this unintentionally him feeling the effects of tripping balls was pure comedy gold.

It just funny for the sake of funny and honestly it could been much worse with him somehow being completely immuned and breaking out like he was in goddamn sue mode.

Although....if that entire scene of him breaking out like superman was just something that he had hallucinate while being in the procedure then that would've been pretty funny as well.

I agree about Casey's line being dumb and not necessary. They could have just had Honeycutt say that they were going on an adventure and left it at that.

Also didn't like April sending a psychic blast at Shredder. I really HATE her powers and I wish she would have been killed instead of Splinter.

Why do you hate something she obviously has no control over? It was an emotional reaction to Splinter's murder. Good grief.

I'm not very mad about the scene. I laughed at it. It just is strange that they could get something like that onto a kids show, and I guess they thought this would go over the heads of younger children watching it. The part I didn't like was Mikey begging for more and acting strange because I thought that went a bit too far.

I think she's saying she hates her powers in generally. She's complaining about the writers giving her powers not the character.

(though when you complain about about a character then you are basically complaining about the person writing the character since this is just fiction after all. Not like April can defend herself) XD

Bubbly is a she my friend.

Honestly, I'm kinda indifferent to April and her Kraang powers. Even with a random outburst, they really are an annoying solve to some issues. That was especially encountered in Return to New York, where I honestly believe it might have been better had another turtle saved Splinter while the others are fighting Baxter and the Elite Shredders.

The issue with her powers is there's no clue to them other than simply emotional outbursts. Where was it when Shredder threw Splinter into the sewers? Where was it when under stress with the first encounter Creep? Or where was it when her father got mutated again?

Look, I'm not asking for much, but it requires serious explanation without it being entirely out of the blue in a serious moment. I get where Bubbly is coming from that April can be a Sue at times, but all I personally want is something consistent. There were several instances those powers should have appeared, so why only use it in the finale? The timing of when is startling.

Agree and it's not like her powers was use lazily to save the day or solve the conflict of the episode at the flick of the wrist instead of figuring how to do it. That would be the only time when I get annoyed with April's powers.

If her powers are done right, it could be an interesting part of her character like they can explain how her powers work and maybe going in depth by explaining her powers could be used against her like in "Eye of the Chimera". Maybe giving her a weakness that hinders her from using her powers. The one thing that her powers should never be is "a solve all" device to conflicts of every or even any episode. It would just really hurt the show just as much when Mikey farts out a cure for every ailment or new kind of mutation, Splinter's stupid ninja cheat code magic.

My guess with why she had an emotional psychic reaction this time and not when Splinter was thrown down the drain. Is that last time the possibility of hope, hope that Splinter could still be alive and hope that her father and the citizens of New York could be returned to normal. After all to quote Splinter "Where there is life, there is hope."

This time when Splinter is killed April emotionally reacts because she knows she is losing both her father and second father/teacher in one fell swoop. And not just them but the countless innocents who also had been doomed by Shredder's selfish act.

April sort of does use her powers with the Creep. I have pointed this out before but there is a moment where she is laying on ground looking at the creep with a frightened expression then transition to her arriving at the farm house. It is possible that wasn't really April who arrived but a astral projection of herself to inform Leo that they were all in trouble.

That doesn't explain why it's so sporadic, like I said even with Michelangelo telling Raphael that everything is going to be all right, why ignore something like this? I personally find it completely random why one minute Splinter suffers where nothing occurs and then this time for "realsies" the blast is then fired. Nor does it explain why April didn't fire at Kraang Prime after her father got mutated again. Timing or not, the lack of a consistent rhythm is a crippling weakness to an idea with potential.

I'm sorry to say, but there's no way her powers were used against Creep in Within the Woods. If these powers are going to allow her to duplicate like a ghost, she obviously needs control over them, which she doesn't have by this point in the season. Instead, she ran from Creep completely frightened, then it transitions to Leo struggling to walk again before he hears O'Neil and she's dragged away by the vines. Despite the obvious walk cycle that can make it apparent, I assume she attacked Creep with the tessen fan and walked away completely exhausted. We can throw theories around on whether it is a different time where Leo walks, but I can't see how she can create a version of herself when all she's done is fire a psychic blast and tap into minds, too plot convenient for that.

Picture it like this VA, April clearly has tons of difficulties like a normal teenager. Season 1 stated she is failing trigonometry and her mother is MIA, all she has are her friends. Then to complicate matters, her only onscreen family member is either kidnapped or the puppet for mutation, leaving her friends that no will believe of existing and of course Casey. Depends on the teenager mindset, but it's obvious that if a person was under this much pressure, they would most certainly snap. It's happened before with the mini arc of April abandoning the team, and it's sort of understandable. If a human was under so much pressure, wouldn't they either bottle it in or even go completely frustrated with emotion?

Like I said, there's practically no excuse on these powers ignored when April has suffered so much and yet they choose only the finale to use the powers as an attack once again. Her powers easily can go off, but they held back on it unless in the case of an extreme situation like her capture in the Kraang Conspiracy or the season 3 finale. Emotional or not, there needs an explanation immediately on why they happen in the show, because I'm sick of it personally.

I been saying this for years about April. She is a step ford smiler or snarker since she mostly makes sassy sarcastic remarks. SHE KNOWS THAT SHE IS NOT HUMAN! That should been the straw that broke the camel's back of where she lost her ****ing mind.

This show is so bad portraying tragedy/stess that is not funny. You realize that Leo had almost die like three times?!

You know, April fully embracing her powers might make for an interesting story, but someone will have to write it. It will be great to see, but we can throw our theories like darts, it will never occur unless it's by a miracle.

There were some tragedy and stress moments, Raph as leader in season 1, MM frozen in season 2, Karai's mutation, and heck I could say it for Zeck and Steranko mutated. That last mutation though I think could have waited, it was probably one of, if not my favorite scene of the entire series. Really depends, but I take what I get. Unfortunately, those tragic moments are very few and far between.

Normally I praise the series, but I am a lot more critical now.

Yeah, we all have theories. We all have some really cool ideas and see opportunities in small tiny aspects that could been taken in whole new and interesting directions but we have to sometimes remember to not project our theories and head canon character analysis in case when the show doesn't do those things or goes in the complete opposite direction. Some of us are really guilty of this.

And I really hate to say that because speculation in fiction is my pure mental addiction, but even when the show almost goes out of it's way to avoid in becoming complex and interesting like Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Rick and Morty and just any other show that like "We can be dark sure but we're also going to make you really think and make you believe these characters are real people and not imagined constructs of our minds."

....I was going to say something positive about this show..Oh right..well even if we don't like some of the directions and choices, or lack there of, in the show, we can at least appreciate its execution on a objective level. I guess?

Because it's ridiculous for her to be able to knock Shredder over with a psychic blast when none of the Turtles have been able to damage him or even beat him. She's a Mary Sue. Plain and simple. Her being immune to mutagen definitely makes her a Mary Sue, too. I just hate her and wish the show would get rid of her because she's useless.

Hey...kinda new here, but....I think April's powers were alright. Nothing worth getting too mad over. I think it was, like most people were saying, just an emotional reaction. It's not like she killed him or anything. Just knocked him off his feet. I mean, Mikey b*tch slapped him once. But, what'cha gonna do? All in all I think all (except for y'know, Casey) was handled well. Any thoughts??

I had a "heck yeah!" moment when April knocked the Shredder down. I loved that part.

Her powers don't bother me much, and it's most likely because she can't control them and how sporadic they are. She's not near as bad as Rockwell in that sense.

Luckyday, does it really need to be like those shows? I ask that as a genuine question.
