Oh man, sorry to hear that, Powder. Is there anything you can take to relieve the itch?

My gear grinder: Cloudy today. Just so gloomy.

When stuff breaks down at work, and WE get to bear the brunt of complaints because of it. I'm sorry, folks, but how is it our fault that you waited ten minutes for your frigging coffee when there's only ONE working coffee machine in the store, and we've got both the counter AND drive thru using it??!! With five other people in line inside for coffee too (and two cars outside), at 8AM, when we're in the middle of breakfast rush.... I had people gripe that they had to wait for their coffee, and never mind the five other people who were there ahead of them who ALSO were waiting for theirs (patiently) but weren't being dicks about it. When stuff breaks down, there's nothing we can do except call a repairman and hope someone comes to fix it. Otherwise, STFU!!!!

When my idiot boyfriend waits until today to e-mail me about his niece's birthday party and tacks on, "Sorry I didn't tell you sooner" which means that he knew about it in advance and didn't bother to tell me about it until today. Screw that! I'm not going anyway because my mom has to clean the church. Hell, even if I could go, I wouldn't because that just p*sses me off that he didn't tell me!

Trying to decide to prune back one of my potted plants (technically a tree - Norfolk Island Pine) before trying to bring it indoors before the nights get too cold for it this weekend. I feel badly about the prospect of having to do it, and there probably is no other choice as it's grown so much over the years that at this point the sucker is probably nearing 8' tall. If I do have to cut it back, I just hope it is ok with that.

In the past it's wintered in the warm closed-off end of the back porch that we've used as a green house for a long time. The roof is angled so it still fit just fine in the back for the past few years... but at some point the porch is being done away with and the plants will be going into the basement this time. Which presents a height problem. Not to mention its weight.

Also, I raked a couple fingers across a cactus while trying to bring in the majority of plants, that I could manage on my own. >.< Was surprisingly not to dangerous from the direction I got it at, left just a few small needles in my thumb, less than expected, though it did cut me... (Grateful though that it's not the nasty barbed one we used to have, that one never got me.)

Only one here trying to deal with this because dad's in the hospital since Wednesday , so mom is over there and sister and brother-in-law are at work. So many of these plants have outgrown the days when they were easy to pick up.

Honestly, this is less of a gear grinder and more of me getting annoyed at it, but I honestly don't like people bragging about their relationships. Granted, I get if you're married to them or have been dating for a constant time period, it's understandable. What infuriates me is everyone that I know has to suck up about particular relationships if one of their friends is in one or having the need to post it online.

Look, I get you want to show the world, but shouldn't some things in life be private? It's why I get a low tolerance with social media, especially because I had to help a friend with relationship issues when I wasn't in one before. Add in the fact that it hurts me to not approach my friends because of this and I'm very miserable at this. It's perfectly okay if you got a person that you've been together for a long time, just please for the love of God don't post stuff when you've dated for barely a few months. To me, a relationship oughta be somewhat private and reserved outside friends knowing.

Probably going crazy with this, but it's honestly just frustrating to me.

I feel you on that, especially considering there is a person on this board who can barely make it through a single post without mentioning that they have a girlfriend. Seriously, like 7/10 posts.

We get it.

I mean, people have a right to expressing their happiness, but a lot of folks come off as if they have to prove something. "Someone validates me!"

I've been starting some meds and that's kind of the gear grinder I guess. I have no idea if they're going to do what they're supposed to do, since I will have to wait a few weeks, but in the meantime I'm kinda having to deal with some side effects.

Most notably, my eyes dilating and removing my ability to focus them. I can't ****ing read a thing, I have to increase the text size on EVERYTHING. It's so annoying.

Yeah, I feel that way about people who have kids and post all of their pictures and everything their kid does. I don't have FB, but my mom does and all of the people she has on her friends list who have kids constantly post pictures and videos of their kids and post about stuff they're doing. I get that you're happy you have a kid, but some of this stuff should stay private given all of the online predators out there.

And I agree about relationships and that people shouldn't throw that in someone's face all of the time. Yes, I'm in one myself, but I don't act like I'm better than everyone for having a relationship. I'm just happy that I found someone who really cares about me and that's what it should be about. It shouldn't be about status and who's better than who concerning said status. That just irks me sometimes when people get that way.

The pets, too. Esp if there are no kids and the pets basically are their substitute children. The kids and the pets have made me unfollow some people's posts. Basically I feel like, "I'm happy for you that you find so much joy in your child or pet, but other people do not feel about them the way that you do." I'd probably drive people crazy if the majority of my FB posts were about my pet fish.

Pity us over here though... mom's friend's daughter has not only swamped us with photos and videos of her son for the 19 months or so since his birth, but she just had her second child two days ago. Universe have mercy. lol

Anyway... only real gear grind for today is that it's cold. Oct. has been pretty nice to us for once, still some 60s and occasional 70s some days (Wed. and Thurs. are supposed to hit low 70s again - this is not at all normal for here, but I'm not going to complain! lol) but not so much this weekend. Upper 40s today. Summer come back now.

Okay Leo, those pictures made me a feel a lot better. And cute animals to boot!

Guess I get very irritated from the people at school feeling the need to post about everything in their lives. I literally mean everything; it can be relationships, their personal lives, complaining. We do live in a more advanced world, but honestly they shouldn't vent on everything. Then again, makes me a hypocrite alongside everyone else.

Wonderful photos, Leo. I love the wedding pic, and the pet photos are quite heartwarming. Thank you for spreading joy and happiness in this bleak thread! Hehe!

Awesome photos, Leo. Love the last one with you rocking the Ninja Turtles shirt posing in front of your Superman poster. Also love the one with your girl, too.

Well, she is lovely. Speaking of cats and gear-grinders.... My mom just old me today that one of our cats is not doing well. He has been barely eating for the past week or so, apparently having trouble breathing, and didn't show up this morning. She said Ash was on the porch when she got home, so at least he didn't wander off to die- yet- but she's not sure how much longer he'll be around. He's the only remaining son of our other cat Demona- his brother ended up going to an animal shelter because we could only keep two when we moved. But if he doesn't make it, I'll have to find some way to have him cremated, as I don't want him to be disposed of like garbage. He's a real sweetheart, and we've had him and his mom for years.
