So are unofficial websites that allow you to stream episodes of your favorite shows online, but what's the law done about that?

But if you really wanted to read them, you could just shop for digital comics.

Don't you watch subbed Pokemon episodes after they air? Don't get on a legal high ground. Me personally I've given so much money to Star Wars that I'd never feel like I"m ripping off the company by reading a comic online.

With that said, doesn't the Marvel unlimited comic Netflix-like subscription include the Dark Horse Star Wars comics now? If not it probably at least includes the new ones. You can check out the material there.

Comic scans online that aren't from official companies is illegal. I would never read a comic put up illegally. Its just not right.

Anime is a gray area because even though people watch shows online after they air in Japan, it usually airs on TV for free anyway. Likewise that's how people get interested in shows and then later buy the DVDs.

For example I just watched the new episode of Dragonball Super that aired in Japan today. Later when FUNI releases it in english I will buy the DVDs. So I will give them my money.

That has got to be the dumbest logic (if you can even call it that) that you can possible say. You do realize the subs for Dragon Ball Super aren't official from Funimation and therefore aren't legal either, right? Plus there's the fact you're streaming them from an unofficial site too, not from the company's site. There is literally no difference between them, no matter what excuse you come up with to justify it.

Sounds to me you're just too dang lazy to go and look up a comic and read it.

You can apply that logic everywhere, you just have this OCD and close minded view on all these issues. I mean you download the individual comics but you like it so you end up buying the trade paperback. Reading comics online is as much of a grey area as fansubs, especially now with apps like crunchyroll.

Maybe don't encourage anyone to do anything illegal, even if it conflicts with their views on other things.

Comic scans are a lot different than TV shows. Most shows air on TV for free, you're just watching them online because you're busy at the time.

Comics are meant to be purchased. Unless they're put up legally then I won't read them. And even when they are put up legally you still have to pay for them most of the time.

For free? I want your tv service then.

Its because of people pirating comics that series get canceled and why comic sales are down. And then people wonder why their favorite comic line ends besides the big ones.

I suppose you can get away with it with the big DC/Marvel/Star Wars stuff since that would never get canceled, but it still isn't right.

You're a real pain in the butt, you know that?

But enough's enough. This is a Star Wars thread, so let's get back to that topic, shall we ladies and gents?

In that case I really hope Luke's reveal isn't saved for the climax of the movie where he plays the big hero rescuing Rey/Finn. I also don't like the idea of him turning evil either like in the expanded universe comics.

I've got a bad feeling that the way Luke is handled will make or break this movie for some people.

I think they're keeping Luke under wraps so that people will have more incentive to see the film.

It's been over 30 years since we saw Luke in action; people will pay to see him on the big screen again, especially if they don't know what to expect.

Luke isn't evil. He defeated the emperor in Return Of The Jedi who was trying to lure him to the dark side.
