As someone who buys Bandai model kits & is an advocate of common sense, trust me, that picture is accurate. They don't make multicolored parts on the racks, they're cast in solid colors. There's gonna be a need for decals & paint. You can see quite clearly in the pictures of Raphael in that same post that the wraps are applications.

I'll pick up Leo if I find him. I checked one Kmart by me but they didn't seem to carry sprukits at all.

Out of personal interest: So this is like putting figures together piece by piece like the industry does with planes, cars and all that miniature-put-it-together-with-glue-yourself-stuff?

Seeing Revoltec figures mentioned on the first page (I hope this is not too offtopic...): What is the deal with the Revoltec figures? Are they special for some or another reason?

Yes, the Sprukits are model kits just like miniature planes, cars, ships etc. in Japan model kits of articulated figures are very popular, especially kits off mech robots like Gundam. So you have to assemble the figure yourself and apply stickers and/or paint them.

Revoltech are a line of very poseable action figures usually fitting the 1/12th scale (5-6") made by Kaiyodo. Which have several figures made from various anime shows, video games, live-action movies/shows, comics and cartoons. A quick google search will give you a plethora of figures that are revoltech figures, and depending on the popularity of the figure they can be quite pricey.

Dear sweet Kappa, thank you so much for your quick and actualy reply! "apply stickers on them" and the reference to Gundam figures really made the deal here! Although all question have been cleared, you raised a new one for me in regards to the Revoltech turtles: Is it worth getting them? Seen a lot over a wide range of shops on the web, almost promoting them.

The Revoltech Turtles are among the best TMNT figures out there, but the price can be very steep as they have been discontinued, and eBay is flooded with cheap poorly made bootlegs. So it's a gamble, don't go too high on price, but too low and you'll get a cruddy knockoff that'll fall apart in-package.

There are threads for both the bootlegs and the legit revoltech figures for pictures, info and comparison.

I put these together with my son last night. Here's a pic if you all want to see what these look like in the wild.

Definitely not something I'd recommend for an adult collector, but those of you with children might enjoy them as an activity.

Well, if I've anything good to say about them, it's that I like the scale. I imagine they're better sized to accompany some of Playmates' less than large villains.

I'm actually thinking about removing the decals and painting them with my Gundam markers. I'm not sure that it'll make much of a difference, but it can't really look any worse. They also feel very cheap. The plastic cracks very easily and the decals barely stay on.

Although, my son had fun putting them together with me, so that was worth it. Now I have to display them with my other figures though, or he'll get upset.

A nice coat of paint, and they'll probably look very decent even though the articulation is lackluster and something's a bit off with some of their head sculpts.

I'm still interested in seeing how these scale next to other 3.75"/4" lines before I decide to bite. I asked at boards specializing in those scales but nobody seems to care about sprukits there.

No, they just misspelled sprukits as spurkits.

Pixel Dan did a review of them.

They look better in the video then I'd anticipate.
