I loved this episode! Sal and Mona were great, and I do hope we see more of them in the future. I do agree the relationship was rushed, but I did like how it was executed and how Raph admired her for how she beat him rather than just how she looked. I didn't think Leo was OOC at all. He's used Raph's full name before in "Slash and Destroy" when he said, "Sorry about Spike, Raphael." So, it's not OOC for them to use their full names if they want to. And remember, Casey called Don by his full name, too, so there you go. Loved the ice dragons and the team sliding down the hill. Also loved how the Fugitoid whipped out those laser guns. Overall, a very decent episode. Can't wait for the next one.

That's true. I don't really know why it stood out to me so much as opposed to other times when he's used their full names. I think to me, it just made him sound too stiff and formal than comforting.

Definitely like this version of Mona Lisa. Raph giving her the name was a nice touch.

Fun episode, nice to finally see Mona Lisa and cool new version of her. But dang that was kind of fast. Sure, Raph may be the last one to do "subtle" and not wait too long before running headlong into it, but geeze, that felt a bit rushed/forced. Was expecting/hoping it would be drawn out a tad more than that. I just wish Mona had been the one to like him first instead. I mean what was her motivation really of having mutual affections so fast? (Nick, you really need to get more female input at the writing level.) Also... wish they'd been more clever on the Mona name. But... it's minimal complaints that prob won't matter after this one.

What I liked... pretty much everything else.

How funny that Raph's the first one to actually have it mutual though.

So I guess maybe Mona Lisa's people aren't so bad really, maybe Newtralizer was just a bit of a jackass.

Edit: So... is this Raph a bit of a masochistic or what?

Here's their reaction to Raph and Mona Lisa kissing each other.

While I liked the majority of this episode, I guess I was put off a little by the pace. Other people have mentioned that the whole Mona Lisa and Raph thing seemed a little fast, but I suppose that's what happens when you're trying to fit things into 20 minutes.

Awesome episode! I gotta admit, I wasn't sure what to expect seeing this new incarnation of Mona Lisa, but I was pleasantly surprised. I kinda hope someday down the road we get a reference to Zelda Williams' late father.

It was a better episode because it was on a much smaller scale.

Didn't care for the ice dragons, though. Too big. Too fast. At -180°C anything resembling life would be thermophobic, have a glacial metabolism, and probably rely on chemosynthesis... thus not predatory or hostile in any way. It would probably literally run away from any heat source it encountered.

And really, isn't freezing to death high enough stakes? Considering they all conveniently passed out at the same time?

She's called both Ik'thba and I'githba on the Wikia (sounds like I'githba to me), but what I can't figure out is why they didn't just give her a name closer to Mona Lisa like Mo'naliikka or M'nalssa.

Then it's more of a phonetic pronunciation than calling a girl a different name, which everyone on Earth should know is a terrible idea.

Why the shell do you keep trying to apply real life logic/science to a wacky kids show?

I think using the full names adds more weight to their words when they are comforting or saying something the person needs to hear.

Now that every Turtle is effectively paired off, we finally stop with the romance. Though Raph and Mona is arguably the best pairing.

Raph/Mona > Mikey/Renet >>>>>>>> Le/Karai >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dog poop >>>>>>>>>> omnicide >>>>>>> Don/April

Because it's fun!

For starters, they wouldn't have passed out, they would have literally frozen to death instantly at -180 C.

Not to mention, they would have instantly shattered to pieces when they fell over.

It can be fun for like, the sake of trivia, or humorous comments, but I can't see letting it hinder your enjoyment. Imaginary universes shouldn't be held to our world's standards, laws, etc unless they're explicitly aiming to fit within it. A complaint about physics wouldn't fly in Nick's series but if you wanna gripe that way about the Bayturtles flick, it's fair.

Is there a term to describe anthropomorphism of earth experiences with behavior/biology to alien life?

Carbon Chauvinism, to a degree...

I think the Raph and Mona Lisa relationship works because, its a relationship involving two non human characters.

Most here are icky about a human/turtle relationship, which is why the whole Raph/Mona Lisa thing is tolerable.

Yep. Really wacky when Shredder straight-up murdered Splinter.
Each writer seems to have a completely different idea of who they're writing for, so seasons feel uncomfortably uneven, not a lot of episodes are worth re-watching, and the show isn't aging well.

I would have been all right if it were just a cold, slightly-below-freezing planet. Going to extremes means I'm going to be more critical. They're 65.8% of the way to absolute zero so the world design has to reflect that.

Otherwise the numbers are meaningless and you may as well just use "normal" conditions.

Does Leo usually use his brother's full names now? It just sounded weird to me.
Universal constant seems to be only Leo uses the other's full name (save OT) he does several times in the original movie line and 2k3.
