Ep Discussion: S4 Ep 2: "The Moons of Thalos 3"

Loved this episode! Huge improvement over last week.

The setting was super cool, the Salamandrians were badass, nice update to a really stupid classic character, Raph's crush was pretty cute and I laughed my ass off when he did the little leg lift at the end.

Also, I can't get over how much I love Tennant as Fugitoid, every line is golden.

So sweet

One thing I noticed from watching it the 2nd time, which I didn't notice from watching 1st time round yesterday (Due to watching a bad quality stream) is that you could hear them kissing off screen.

It was a shame it happened off screen but I wonder if it was due to a censor issue or the creators were just teasing us and that Raph and Mona Lisa will kiss in another episode, which will be shown.

Maybe the kiss was a little to graphic for the kids show that's why they didn't show it. If Sal Commander blocking Mikey's vision is any indication.

Well, maybe they just blocked it because they figured we could hear them kissing and know that's what was going on. I loved how Sal covered Mikey's eyes like he was saying, "You really shouldn't see this."

How about Hamato Yoshi, who we call Splinter? Or all those super long Tumblr names that we often shorten?
It's nothing rude. In fact, Raph meant it as an endearment.
So...it's not something to fuss over, right, fellas? Or at least that's what I thought...with all due respct to these bloggers. I just think they took it one step too far...

I get how Tumblr is like the breeding ground for protesters and people standing/looking for causes (and some are justified), but when I saw one person comparing Raphael to the colonists naming the indians, I had to roll my eyes....

I understand why changing someone's name might be seen as offensive, but shouldn't we leave that to the person receiving the name? From the looks of it, Ik'thaba (or however you spell that) seemed rather pleased to be given a nickname, even if it was for the purpose of convenience. When Raph said it was the same name as a "painting of the most beautiful woman in art and stuff", she took it as a compliment and an honor to be compared to a piece of art. Maybe there's something in her culture that if an outsider gives you a second name, it's considered a great honor. Or maybe she just thought it was cute and didn't want Raph to constantly butcher her name.

Either way, I don't think that scene should be all that offensive to people. I swear we are living in such a politically correct society that we forgot what taking things with a grain of salt means. Heck, the only reason I joined Tumblr was to meet other TMNT fans and see random gifs.

It took forever for me to get a chance to watch this episode, But it has proved to be worth the wait!!!
It is funny how Raph falls for Mona Lisa.... saying something to the effect of "I've never been hit like that before". Lol, yes, yes... We all new he liked to play rough.

It was a "basic" story, nothing deep or special, but it worked. If you want a 7 year old girls opinion, my daughter thought it was "good". She enjoyed the Mona Lisa character, and laughed a lot everytime they would call her Raphs "girlfriend". On topic, I can't lie... I Liked the "cutesy Mona Lisa" I remember thinking as a child she made a cuter mutant than Human. But still, I like this Mona Lisa as well.



Other things in this episode I enjoyed:
1) I like it when Casey and Donnie insult each other Just like the 1st movie
2) Even though I'm not a big fan of the new movie The part where they were all sliding down the hill was nice.
3) Seeing another side of Raph... I thought that Nick showing Him painting "Venus" on the turtle van was just random, but it appears maybe he really does like art and painting things.


Off topic some though, why is the new episodes not on Amazon yet?

And tigerClaw Is it okay with you if I use this as my signature?

I used the singplayer and the screen capturing from Xsplit to capture that moment, unfortunately the part with the almost kiss has a very large banner underneath the scene, someone needs to capture a clean version of that particular scene without the banner, fortunately the kissing scene didn't have it.

I think people get confused with politically correct and practically stupid. Yes, we get it tumblr, you are trying to right the wrongs of this world- but Turtles and 'Justice For All' are two separate things.

Great episode all round. Was good to see the Salamandrians again since I really miss The Newtralizer. The Ice Dragons were really cool.

Looking forward to see Mona Lisa again soon and not just having her be a one-shot character like last time.

The way Raphael went around naming Mona Lisa was really corny.
