OMG!!!! Having a side-plot of Raph trying to explain romance to Mona Lisa will be beyond cute! Yeah, I can see how she'd think sparring was similar to dating:

I do recall one of the animator/writers (I think it was that Peter guy) mentioning that Raph and Mona would be dancing later this season? Maybe they go to some weird alien nightclub and Raph teaches Mona Lisa how to dance. "It's like sparring, only you're not trying to hurt your opponent."

Though it's him who has spent most of his life isolated, while she's (presumably) always had the freedom of living among people like her - it could very well be her teaching him how to live it up.

I think the reason I like Salamandarians is because they kinda remind me of Klingons. They seem to be a noble warrior race and I said I can't wait to see if we learn more of their customs.

Now the only thing I haven't seen mentioned is...the ages. The turtles are what 16/17? Mona's no doubt a bit older...course it depends on the longevity of the Salamandarians...

I was wondering too. They fell for each other before not really even knowing anything about the other... She does imo come across as being grown, like a young 20s (or her equivalent of it)... my, wouldn't that be a tad awkward.

Too bad the series hasn't aged the Turtles up each year and making them at least 18 by now.

Random enough that she's likewise attracted to Raph so quickly... after all, he's basically a little green alien.

Finally got to see this episode, and really like Mona. Sure, her relationship with Raph may have been a little rushed, but I like the dynamic it has.

I also liked how Leo still cant catch a break in space

Being a big Raph fan, I really enjoyed this episode! I thought the new version of Mona Lisa was great and I liked how she was a very tough cookie. As others have said, it kind of reminds me a little of Ninjara in that she's more of a fighter than '87 Mona Lisa was in the original cartoon. Doing it this way we sort of get it both ways with the character actually being Mona Lisa, yet we still get some Ninjara vibes through her fighting and laser sword wielding. And I thought their romance felt done well enough and very sweet. Zelda Williams was a great choice to voice Mona Lisa. Overall I really like Mona Lisa and really hope to see her again in the future.

I also really enjoyed Sal Commander as well! Keith David did a great job and I like him most from voicing Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. I also really enjoyed his character design and I actually really like his original name for some reason. I like how Commander G'thraka sounds for some reason. I even enjoyed the characters' funnier moments like hiding Mikey's eyes when Raph and Mona Lisa kissed. His sense of honor is cool too and I hope we see both Sal Commander and Mona Lisa soon!

It's a nice nod how Raph and Mona hit it off the first time they met. Admittedly it feels rushed, but hey I got Keith David and Zelda Williams from this, so I have no complaints.

And surprisingly, Mona's gung-ho blood knight aggression and sass reminded me of TMNT adventure's Ninjara than her 80's counterpart, so it's also nice.

I got around to watching this last night. I continued to be impressed by this fourth season.
The ice planet was beautifully done, and used to great effect with all the high speed action. And there was a lot of action in the episode.
There were also a few laughs in there, mostly visual involving Fugitoid.

I really liked the salamanders a lot. I guess we will see more of them.

All in, another solid episode that was presented in movie quality format. Please keep this up Nick.

This episode was okay but I didn't think it was as good as I was hoping for.

I liked that Raph fell in love with Mona Lisa not based on looks but her fighting skills. At the same time, falling in love with someone only by getting his shell handed to him felt like last minute writing. Well, at least it's a more suitable relationship than the other three's.

Like others, when Leo blew off Raph's idea of making peace with them, I felt that was totally out of character. It was like they briefly switched bodies.

And I too also noticed that the sliding down the snow scene felt like a moment in the 2014 film. I was expecting Leo to sled on his shell and use his swords as skis.

The only reason I'm posting (haven't been on here in forever) is because I got a private message from someone (won't mention them here)...

and apparently Raph is still a sissy. First he was afraid of horses, now he's afraid of space. He's now reduced to a love struck teenage girl. He's beat up by Mona Lisa and immediately falls for her. He gets kissed by her at the end and raises his leg like a girl. He was made wrong again as usual with Leo calling his plan stupid. And he was also made fun.

No wonder I gave up on this show long ago, lol. Again, the only times I come on here is when I get messages from other Raphael fans telling me 'look what they did her' and 'look what they did there'...and I trust them. Reading the posts, they weren't wrong.

Just give Raph a pair of panties and a Tutu already, or be the first Transgender Ninja Turtle for crying out loud.

When the guy becomes an actual USEFUL member of the team...or becomes a tenth of the 'bad-ass' that the character SHOULD be (like in other versions)...or, you know, Saves The Day/Saves his Brother (other than an episode or such Two Seasons ago)...those Raph fans can let me know.

Otherwise, as a Raphael fan this show can Kiss My Ass.

Why did you bother go on a rant about an episode you didn't watch. Raph's plan wasn't stupid because it worked (you'd know if you watched it). They're siblings... of course they make fun of each other and it was over a crush. Leo and Donnie have both been made fun of over that. Everyone's afraid of something. Leo still acts like a dork and messed up by flirting with a stranger. Just because he can screw up, doesn't make me dislike him.

Apparently my dad's a sissy since he fell in love with my mum. What a revelation! How is falling in love out of character? Apparently 'bad-ass' Raph can't have emotions and feel stuff.

Seriously you can't judge a show based on other people's opinions. Move on from this show. I know I'm wasting my breath but I can't stand seeing this after every couple of episodes.

Gosh, as a Mirage Raph fan I really kind of liked this episode.
Granted, it wasn't anywhere near the strongest episodes of the series, not by a long shot, but it it was cute.

Great use of Zelda Williams.
LOVED the ice dragons.
I'm really getting a kick out of Honeycutt.

But yeah...Raph falling head over heels for someone bigger than him that can kick his butt? I fail to see that being out of character.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

At least they didn't give Mona Lisa any boobs. It was hard to tell with the armor on, but I'm glad they didn't go the Venus route and stick boobs on a reptilian creature.

Raph said he hated space, not afraid of it.
Mona Lisa is a warrior, a badass fighter, they both had a good 1 on 1 fight.
Leo said his plan was stupid because they knew nothing about them due to there diffierent customs but Raph went anyway and his plan worked and he did make friends with them.

It so stupid that you rather go by other people's opinions and not your own. Do you actually make opinions for yourself (Not just on TMNT but other things) or do you just go by other people's opinions.
