Anyways.. I wonder if this was the latest trailer that was classified on the 2nd. http://www.albertafilmratings.ca/rec...trailers.aspx/ I wasn't crazy about that trailer. I'm actually a little disappointed. I hope the movie will be good. I just kinda wish it were a little darker/violent in a way. That's just what id like to see. Fun is good and fine and all but... I'm just longing for something really badass. I hope after this trilogy they start from scratch Last edited by RETTEB SNATAS; 05-03-2016 at 09:52 PM. |

Yeah, that's kind of why I made a thread about this film's tone. There's not much to talk about after watching this latest trailer. It's mostly just character bios. Whether or not I like this movie, I'd rather there not be a third one.

I love Leonardo. Absolutely love the guy. But that poster has to be the dullest thing to ever bear his image. Just him jumping across the night sky. It's like the laziest least imaginative thing they could've done. They couldn't at least throw some sky scrapers in the background or maybe some birds flying by to break up the blandness of it all. Also his shell looks like a backpack

It'd be cool to see them really think out the way they'd move with their specific humanoid-turtle physiology, but y'know, that'd take extra work.

Was thinking about that earlier after waking up. To think if they'd only not gone quite so large with the shells it might have helped it look a little more natural. More subtle like the sliders they formerly are, instead of tortoises they aren't. (And work better with that human hybrid type skeletal structure.) Had really hoped they would have let up on it a tad for the sequel.
At the very least cut back on how high it comes up. I mean, come on, as a ninja and hero I'm sure it would be an asset not to have some of your peripheral vision blocked and be able to see over your own shoulder. That is a cute lil' tush though. |

Instead it's backpacks... Real heroes wear shells indeed, cause they are removable. |

There are stories of screenwriters not being allowed on set. Being replaced, like a game of musical chairs. Honestly, they are treated like temp workers. A lot of times, much of what you see and hear in the final cut wasn't contributed by the credited writers, but either made up on the set (by the director, producer, or a member of the cast) or written by a script doctor (which is essentially a ghost writer, a screenwriter whose work is often uncredited). Also, writers often have to write what they are told to write. You could say "hack," but sometimes it does come down to "Do I want to pay my bills and put food on my family's table?" Plus, there is always the thought, "Well, they're gonna pay someone else to do it, might as well be me and I could I try to make it good.." I'm sure most people are familiar with Kevin Smith's story about writing for Superman Lives, where he was constantly told by a crazy producer, Jon Peters, to add giant spiders and fight sequences with polar bears. Then Tim Burton came in, kicked Kevin off, made his own changes, etc. Maybe not the best example since, because of Batman & Robin's failure, Superman Lives was dropped before it went before cameras. However, something similar happened to Last Action Hero and is happening with the new DC movies, as well. I am not even sure if I would blame the director in this case. I'm sure this happened with the last TMNT film too. I'm sure Michael Bay played his part (he did force reshoots to add humor because the first cut he saw was too serious), but I am also sure Paramount and Nickelodeon had their controlling moments, as well. |

I wouldve liked to see them shoot footage for an actual PSA, versus just giving us standard trailer footage, intercut with an antibullying ad. You could string together most anything like this.
If they shot actual footage I think something like this could have more impact.

And now I'm imagining a live action version of those GI Joe "knowing is half the battle" things with a CGI Leo...
