Why would they slap that song onto all the trailers and TV spots if it wasn't going to be in the movie?

a lot of trailers for other movies do that, play songs that aren't in the movie.

But yeah, Tricky and No Sleep Til Brooklyn are songs that would fit TMNT nicely.

I rather they get into EDM.

So Tiger, was there any end-credits scene? Do they leave anything hanging at the end as a direct setup for a potential third movie?

You think these guys are smart enough to SET UP a third movie?

There was no post credits scene in the cut I saw. The movie leaves it open for certain villains to return.

Since this movie is based entirely on the Fred Wolf series, I don't really see what else they could do with the 3rd one. They already introduced all the major Fred Wolf characters everyone wanted to see. Honestly, I think they blew their wad way too soon.

I agree. It was nice to see, especially for those of us who waited 20+ years to see those characters on the big screen. However, I don't know what they could possible introduce in a third that would gain this much excitement.

Just do a different version for each film? The confused, doesn't-know-what-it-wants-to-be version, the Fred Wolf version, next... 2003 inspired? One can dream.

I guess. He's just Krang. I don't think it ever comes right out and says that he is an utrom, but the 80s show never did either. He's from Dimension X, so he's not from outer space or anything like that.

The worst part is that they could've built Krang up as the antagonist of the series, rather than just a single movie. They could still incorporate so many arcs (Triceratons, Rat King, Leatherhead, or an entirely new villain.).

So in the trailers, Raph calls Shredder "robot samurai", is that accurate to what Shredder is in the movie?

Also it's going against X-Men in the US and then TMNT 2 a week later, which I think is a big mistake but I could be wrong and end up beating X-Men.
I know these posts were from five months ago, but it really does seem that there is more interest in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows right now because Alice Through the Looking Glass is flopping during its opening weekend.

http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/29...men-apocalypse

This source from deadline hit the nail on the head about why it was a huge mistake to open the same weekend as X-Men: Apocalypse.

Quote:
“X-Men isn’t doing it any favors at the box office,” said one distribution chief. And even though X-Men is reaping alice 2the spoils, I’m sure Fox would be happier if that hag Alice and her kooky friends weren’t standing around, stealing their cash. And with all the family product in the market —Angry Birds with $20.1M FSS, -47%, as well as Disney’s own Jungle Book with $10.2M over FSSM– the question begged is why Disney kept Alice 2 on Memorial Day weekend? Yes, they were looking to get the biggest audience possible, but that’s not the case with all this competition in the holiday marketplace. In regards to marketing, Disney certainly didn’t bail on Alice 2. That’s not Disney’s way. And you can’t blame the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard feud; glossy woes do not factor into the B.O.. If this sequel meant anything, Disney should have found another date when there was less competition which would cut into its till. Granted, they chose May 27 first back in November 2013 before Fox staked the same date out for X-Men a month later. “I would have moved Alice,” asserted our rival distrib exec about keeping the sequel alive, “but that’s not Disney’s way. They’re not reactive. Their record is 88 to 2 and they never lose. They probably said to themselves when X-Men moved on the date, ‘We’ll figure it out'”.
http://deadline.com/2016/05/x-men-ap...ce-1201763668/

I also went to see it yesterday and it really wasn't that good. So, those views on Youtube did show that there wasn't much interest in this sequel.
