Ok so it's a good thing if tmnt drops off the face of the earth for a couple year just so you and some other can get what you want sure everyone else who enjoys these movies and franchise can suck it as long are you guys are happy and get what you want ok.

It goes both ways.
You want what you want and fans who disliked this series wants the movie to tank so another studio will eventually get a shot.
Everyone wants their ideal situation to pan out.

That's not what I said at all, but you clearly hear what you want to hear.

This version of the TMNT? Yeah, I want that to go away. I think these movies are awful and are doing damage to the long-term health of the property. What I want is good movies, good comics, good shows across the board. If the movie line has to hibernate for a while in order for that to happen, that's fine by me. I'm a quality over quantity kind of guy. I do want the IDW comic and the Nick show to stick around, though.

But ultimately it's not about what I want. It's about the numbers. This movie underperforming has nothing to do with me or what I want. Clearly a large swath of the general audience is rejecting it.

The Nick show is way more about quantity than quality. I'd love for that to slither off and die also

That's fine. I have my issues with the show too, but when it gets serious about story and hits those emotional beats it really works for me. There's an effort and an understanding of the TMNT story there that I dont get from these movies at all, even if the other aspects of the show can be pretty mixed at times. Comparing for quality, I'd say Nick is better by a country mile.

According the box office and reviews, not a lot people did enjoy this movie. Like it or not, it probably doesn't have the appeal it needs for another sequel.

what other studio though the only way this goes to another studio is if it's sold off to another studio which mean good bye nick series good bye IDW comics.

But that is exactly what you and others are saying and have been saying since before these movies came out. Oh we don't want these movies. Never mind all the people who do like them. At this point everyone of the my mvoies except 1990 have under performed. And are critical"flops" this I mean you really hate these movies so much youd rather the franchise suffer.

So far the audience all agree o one thing this movie is a better tmnt movie then the last one. Pretty much all the reviews say as much and it's a shame more people aren't giving it a chance. It really is because this movie is much better then the last one.

People asked for a better turtles movie and they made a better turtles movie. It would surprise me if the higher are thinking " well **** if we just kept doing what we were doing like the last one we might have made more money". Because let's face it they addressed alot of the issues people had and fix them and all that has done was cause the movie to "flop" it's a shame. These turtles are awesome. Noel Allan Pete Jeremy are all perfect.

But what ever. It just sucks people did t even give it a chance. Smh

Except that there's plenty of people who dislike BayMNT and have disliked this one just as much. The RT audience score is about to go rotten and it hasn't even been a full week yet.

You don't have to sell the rights to another studio to get a different version. You just need to remove Platinum Dunes from being the creative producers on the project. Find someone that sees the property as something more than a nostalgia cash grab.

I think some of you have some cognitive distortions about this movie's lack of success. This movie failing is not going to end tmnt or end the IDW series. Take a step back.

These two newer movies are just bad. Sure, they make TMNT into more of a joke. The question to be asked is: was the TMNT universe more stable before or after the movies? I tend to think it's a little worse but won't suffer greatly from movies. Casual audiences who haven't known tmnt will be repelled by them. But others will still embrace the franchise for what it is.

Tmnt will be fine. Over the last 30 years, there has almost always been some form of TMNT medium ongoing. Thats not going to abruptly stop because of these sh*t movies.

Better is not the same as good, there's a very important difference.

To be fair, though, every movie aside from the 1990 one have been pretty terrible-to-ghastly movies.

To be fair, even the 1990 one had some pretty serious issues. It's a beautiful somewhat faithful adaptation of Mirage, but it has some flaws, too.

For me, the quintessential TMNT movie has yet to be filmed.

Quite a few, which is why I can only say I really dig about... 70% of it. Of course, it's still Citizen Kane next to pretty much any TMNT movie since (the new ones aren't even worth mentioning). It's always struck me as odd that, as much love at the box office and abroad that 1990 movie got, TPTB have made it their mission to make sequels and reboots as wildly different from it as possible.

Wasn't the only thing the 1990 movie took from the cartoon was making April a reporter, and the Turtles love for pizza? Other than that it was pretty much a Mirage adaption movie.

Doesn't Casey beat up a bunch of Foot Soldiers who are supposed to be real martial artists?

That and the muti-colored bandannas and cowabunga.

And it pretty much cut-and-pasted their exaggerated personalities from the cartoon. The constant slapstick element, sight gags, the feel and tone. There's jokes and humor in Mirage but not anywhere near this.

The movie itself, basically Danny: The Movie, starring the evil Darth Shredder and his halfway house for troubled New York youths. All of that has very, very little to do with Mirage on any level, and it's like the spine of the movie.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the movie. It's just pretty wrong for folks to parade it around like it's this near-perfect Mirage adaptation. It's pretty far from that.
