They aren't canon towards the show though

No, they're not.

I count the Kenny Byerly issues as canon, but that's it. Not that they're bad.

The Nick comics are purposely written to not contradict anything of the show. While there have been a few discrepancies here and there, they're largely designed to fill out some gaps of the series. There's a reason Nick doesn't allow IDW to do whatever they want with the Nick comics.

I really don't like Splinter's mentions about him not being with the Turtles forever and stuff in today's episode. I mean, he's right, but after what happened at the end of Season 3, I don't want Splinter to be killed or die again. I prefer to think of this as simply foreshadowing the end of the series.

I mean, I could imagine this for the end of the season: The Turtles fight against the Shredder in his Super-Shredder's form, in their ultimate battle. As usual, everything is left to a match between Shredder and Splinter; and the fight is so intense that it seems both of them perish in their final battle. (Probably as a symbol that they are both doomed to an eternal war while they live). However, there's no sign of their bodies, leaving open the door for them to be alive.

I can imagine that, in the next/probably last season, the Turtles will then start to be trained by the Ancient One (you know, from the 2003's series). The Turtles and his allies will then surely start to be trained in the most mystic arts of Ninjitsu; and by the end of the season, we will see Splinter and Shredder alive once more. Since this could be possibly the last season of the series, the final battle will finally bring the end of the Shredder, as the Turtles reunites with their father and start a new chapter of their lives.

Amazing Adventures is not in the same continuity. New Animated was.

Amazing Adventures is literally the same thing as Animated adventures with a title change.

Last week I had a theory that Splinter may be killed off because I noticed he was helping the turtles with there weaknesses and fears.

In Broken Foot Splinter had to to talk to Leo about why it's bad to go solo and keeping it a secret.

In last weeks episode Splinter had to help Raph's fear over bugs because it got worse.

After watching today's episode, it looks like Splinter death theory could be right because he said that he won't be around for long and he's worried about there weaknesses and they still need to mature. He also had to talk to Raph about his anger issue and talk to Donnie about mocking Raph and making it worse.

I guess in Bat in Belfry Splinter will probably talk to Mikey over his ongoing issues. Hopefully anyway because I'm dieing to see more Mikey and Splinter interaction.

If Splinter does die, we probably end up seeing him in flashbacks, dreams ect because a few months ago Dominic Catrambone was doing voice acting for Leo again for season 5 so that raises eye brows.

Killing Splinter just feels redundant at this point because it happened in the Season 3 finale, and then at the end of Season 2 Splinter was also lost for a while when Shredder threw him into the storm drains.

But this time he will be permanently dead and the turtles will know there's no way of getting him back.

I don't know if they'll kill Splinter off in the actual series for good. He's just saying that because it's true that he won't be around forever and that the Turtles have to grow so they can move on without him. Yes, he could die in battle or he could die of old age.

Yeah, even if this series ends, Splinter will still be alive, He was still alive at the end of the Fred Wolf and 4Kids series.

Even Next Mutation, Which had the Turtles being mature still had Splinter around, so they are never going to kill him off, He's a very important character in this whole franchise.

Just because it didn't happen in the 80s toon and 2K3 show, it can still happen in this show and it was difficult to kill off main characters back then.

Actually if a 2nd season of Next Mutation happened, Splinter was going to be killed off.

Killing Spinter off in the 3rd season was used as a plot device for the time travel, they are not gonna kill him off again.

Well the saying goes "the 3rd time's charm" so killing Splinter again but this time permanently could still happen.

Anyway you do know this is only theories and speculation right so I'm probably wrong anyway.

It's also possible that while the discussion did suggest Splinter would be killed off for good and all. It could also be possible that someone else bites it at the end of the season.

So as an example:

Splinter did mention letting things end with unresolved issues.
Donnie and Leo have unaddressed tension that has existed since the end of season 2. So far this tension only appears when Donnie feels that he's being pushed. This season Don easily overpowered by an opponent or one of the first to be taken out of a battle as well.

So possible Nick version of issue #44.

This recent episode, Donnie was sinking to Raph's level which also could be caused by frustrations that haven't been brought to the surface yet.

Or maybe since the story has hinted that April will be going dark...and in city of war there was that point where Donnie wanted to step in when Shinigami and April were going at it. And he is able to calm her down when she is still under the crystals influence. Perhaps he believes he can reach her and instead is psychically incapacitated.

I could see Ciro having Splinter die near the end of the series. This is the same guy whose original plan was to have Splinter dead when the show started.
