I don't understand your logic. We've already seen so much of Rahzar and Fishface, and they'd be even more stale had Bebop/Rocksteady not gotten some focus and shifted it away from them. I don't want to see the same two mutants beaten over and over.

Shredder having 6 active mutants is ideal.

If we're only talking about the look of the scene, Bebop and Rocksteady getting beaten up over and over is exactly the same as Rahzar and Fishface getting beaten up over and over, just with a different look. This is why I say competent writing makes it interesting.

Think of Xever's story from back in Season 1. Think of the rivalry that was building up between him and Raph. That alone can make a fight between them a lot more interesting. Think about if Bradford had as much development and developed a fiercer rivalry with Mikey. Now imagine it all go away. That's precisely what they did with these characters. They really had something going, and then they just get shoved aside as background characters for Bebop and Rocksteady, who are not nearly as interesting of characters as Xever and Bradford would've been.

This is exactly why people never get tired of seeing Splinter and Shredder fight. The story behind them is just too good for you not to get invested. The Turtles have depth. Xever and Bradford had depth. Bebop has 80s slang and Rocksteady has his "blueberries" catchphrase. That makes all the difference in an action scene, no matter how flashy you make it look. That's why we're saying there was true potential for these characters, but all of that potential was dashed away as soon as they introduced Bebop and Rocksteady.

And Tiger Claw... don't even get me started on Tiger Claw. He was a good addition. Leaving it at 3 would've been smart, especially since Tiger Claw, once upon a time, had depth. But his story was forgotten almost as quickly as Xever's.

I feel that Mikey, Bebop, and Rocksteady are going to be the only ones providing comic relief while exploring the possible eeriness of The Undercity.

Maybe Darkest Plight will answer a two season long question. Is the Rat King dead?

If yes, then perhaps a shout out to the Mirage comics. As in, stumbling upon Victor Falco's corpse decayed into a skeleton.

If not dead, then the episode might be "stealth sequel" to Of Rats and Men.

If not answered, then we should rant about it. Like any cynical user would do.

Agreed after they popped up in IDW I was actually hoping they didn't appear in Nick. And me and my bro constantly say why don't they just abandon Shredder? I know the show gives a reason but it's still sort of flimsy.

That's the same promo for the the new episodes, not for the episode.

Yeah that's the one I saw. so if Mikey jumping into the pit, it looks like he's going to save Splinter. Crossing my fingers hoping there's going to be a Mikey and Splinter moment.

I had a thought about this and I think Haalix could be right about the Turtles going back to the farmhouse.

I expect the turtles will think it's best to go back to the farmhouse to help Splinter recover, train for there final fight with Super Shredder and maybe lie low for awhile because Super Shredder and the Hench Mutants will be out looking for them and the Turtles could be exposed to the public because in that trailer Shredder and Leo are fighting in the streets and there are human bystanders watching too.

So if they do go back to the farmhouse they probably go at the end of Darkest Plight or The Power Inside Her and if they go at the end of the Power Inside Her then April will probably need to recover too.

In the Mirage comics Splinter dies of a heart attack at the farmhouse so if Splinter does die there (either from his injuries he got from fighting Shredder or a heart attack), it will happen in episode 24 or 25 Requiem and it probably be the best place to have him buried (or cremated) as well.

I expect they will be at the farmhouse for at least 3/4 episodes and in final episode Owari, the Turtles will be back in New York fighting Super Shredder and the Turtles will be more stronger and wearing there new dark gear (remember the new toys).

you know this might be crazy but if splinter dies maybe the turtles travel to japan with karai, april, and shinigami to leave his remains with the hamato clans grave shrine. that may also then open up season 5.

Oooh this looks really good

One tiny thing that annoys me is that The Shredder never calls the turtles by their names anymore, unlike the 2k3 series. Unless you count Clash of the Mutanimals, but still I wish this Shredder could call Leo by his name, I guess it would make the scene seem more serious, still this ep looks like another good one. I can't wait.

I don't recall him calling the turtles by their names in the 2k3 series, even when Leo told him his name when meeting him for the first time. The closest we ever had was in the beginning of the Battle Nexus game and that's not canon.

"Astute as usual, Leonardo" was a line in Return to New York part 2. And I think he said Don's name in SaiNW.

He called them by their names a few times in the original cartoon too. But mostly it was, "Those blasted Turtles," or "You wretched reptiles!"

At the end of the preview after Shredder throws Leo out of the alley, anyone think the black man standing there on his phone looks like Obama? Intentional reference?
