Bringing in a new writer for a page one rewrite is the next step in Affleck distancing himself from the project completely.

Step 1: Walk away from directing
Step 2: Walk away from writing

How long before they announce Affleck is no longer starring in the movie?

Again, no way he could, even if he wanted to. No chance in Hell WB didn't have him sign some crazy 5 picture deal or such before ever stepping on set for BvS with what is at stake.

His original contract was a 3 picture deal - BvS and two JL movies. He didn't sign on for a solo Batman movie. There were rumors that WB wanted to sign Affleck for something like an 8 picture deal after BvS but there's never been any official word on that and I've never seen Affleck comment on it like he did his original 3 picture deal.

Normally he's marveling at how much time has passed and swearing something/someone was young not long ago. Now he's adding years onto Affleck. The cubedtime continuum is all ****ed up.

I've been rewatching ENT and holy Xindi, I'd forgotten how many bad episodes there were. Struggling to make it through the first two seasons...

Bah, they're not that bad. I'd take almost any ENT season 1 or 2 episode over your average samish, playing-it-safe VOY episode.

Some of them are GREAT, I won't argue that. Whenever they're dealing with either preestablished races (Andorians, Klingons, Vulcans) or the new races (Suliban, and later the Xindi), I love it. But a lot of them are just snoozefest. "Marauders" was boring, "A Night in Sickbay" was absurd... the captain takes his puppy along on a diplomatic mission with a species he ALREADY KNOWS have their panties perpetually wadded?

I love T'Pol, and I love Phlox, but every other crewmember makes vanilla look exciting... Southern Guy, Black Guy, British Guy, Asian Chick, and their Captain.

Am I being too harsh?

Um, no. At this point, and as someone who still wants a new solo Batman movie with Affleck as well as for the DCEU to succeed, Affleck will look quite smart to abandon what most people have given up as a sinking ship.

If Justice League under performs and is another critical flop, there's no way he sticks around for a solo film. There's a good chance he knows the JL isn't any good and is negotiating a way out to save himself from more setbacks.

He didn't work as hard to turn his image around in Hollywood just to be another joke again.
